“Yeah, I canhear that twang in your voice, baby. Let me guess. South Florida? Not quite Miami, but close.”

“Give or take a few miles. You might be on point.”

Out of nowhere, Dymon popped up.“Berry. It’s been a while.”

“Not long enough, Danger.”

He stood next to me, establishing dominance, letting Wayne know what was up withoutactually sayingwhat was up.

My pussy started to throb.

“It shouldn’t be any hard feelings, Berry. You know, business is business.”

“Indeed, it is. All waterunder the bridge. I was just talking to your lovely assistant, hoping to invite her to the Forbes dinner, since I saw that you already have a date.”

I tensed up. He felt it too.

Dymon looked down at mebefore looking at Berry. “Oh, my apologies.” He took a couple of steps away from us. “Give him your answer.”

Under his glare, I knew exactly what that meant. I looked back at Wayne. “I’m sorry. I can’t.”

He nodded his head. “Alright.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a business card.“Contact me sometime. I would love to give you a proper tour of New York.”

I nodded my head, taking the business card out of his hand. “Have a good day.”

As Dymon and I walked down the hall, I could feel the heat radiating off him.

“Don’t you ever in yourfucking lifetell a nigga you sorry for turning him down. Do you understand me?”

I nodded my headquickly.

“I can’t hear you.”

“Yes, sir.”

To the other professionalsin the hall,we looked like two colleagues having a conversation, buthewas scolding me, and I wasfucking enjoyingit.

“Who is he?”

“None of your business. Give me that card anyway.” He nearly gave mea papercut snatching the card out of my hand.

“You need to calm down, getting worked up over nothing. The man hadn’t even mention that dinner or whatever until you came over to us dropping your nuts on his head. You might as well have told him that I deep-throated your dick last night.”

He was a gentleman and held the doorto the buildingopened for me, where Bernard was waiting for usoutside.

“Who is your date?Awoman you’re going tofuckafterwards?”

“Get in the car, Quinci.”

Once we both were in the car, I turned and looked out the window.

“Bernard, give me a second,” Dymon told him when he’d opened the driver’s door.

As soon as he closed it, Dymon reached acrossthe seat and grabbed my neck, touching one of the painful marks he’d left last night. “Who the fuck were you just talking to, Princess?”

“I’m sorry, Mr. Dymon.”

“You told me the expectations were me to not be with another woman, andhereyou are questioning me about one not even twenty-four hours later.”

I didn’t say anything.

Hepecked my lips, making me smile before releasing my neck.

“Were you jealous, Mr. Dymon?”

“Hell yeah. Didn’t even know I was moving until I was standing next to you.”

Bernard got back in the car, looking at both of us in the rearview mirror before pulling out into the street.I didn’t know how long we were going to be able to keep this a secret. I needed to get it together.
