“Yeah.”

He walked away fromus, and I walked down the hall to the nearest bathroom.

“You’re going to get washed up too, right?”

“Of course. You know your grandmother don’t play that.”

“Shereallydon’t.” He looked up at me and then back out the door before closing it. “I know a secret,” he whispered.

“You always have the best secrets. What’s this one?”

“I know you have a girlfriend.”

Icoughed. “Excuse me?Who told you that? I don’t have a girlfriend.”

He nodded his head. “Uh-huh.Dad told Mom.Only for the body, though.”

I blinked slow. “What was that last part, Donovan?”

“Hesaid, ‘only for the body.’ What does that mean, Uncle Dymon?”

“Nothing at all. Let’s finish washing our hands.”

Even though I was fuming on the inside, I wouldn’t letDonovan know that. I didn’t want himthinking that he did anything wrong because, God forbid, apervertedmothafucka toldhim to keep a secret, so yeah. He could tell Uncle Dymon all his secrets, and they’d be safe with me.

“Don’t tell Dad I told you.” He held his pinky out, and I locked mine with his.

“Got it.” I picked him up and walked out of the bathroom. “So, I have a secret for you too. Uncle Dymon don’t have a girlfriend, but there is a girlhemight like.”

“Is she pretty?”

“Very pretty.”

He smiled and nodded his head.

When we made it to the dining room, I put him on his feet, and he ran to his seat that was in between his mom and father. My mother and father were in their normal seats at the end of the table. I sat in between Diesel and Denim, across from Metri.

“Didn’t know if you were going to make it, son,” my dad said.

“Yeah, I made it.”

“Bernard didn’t want to come in for a plate?” my mom asked.

“No.”

While the servers were walking around, setting the plates on the table, Diesel nudged my knee with his.

“Not even two weeks. I am very impressed,” he mumbled.

I shot him a confused looked, and he smirked.

“Did you forget that I was your personal accountant too? Over a half amillion dollars. Please tell me it was worth it.”

I shrugged my shoulder.

“Shit. Dymon, you’re serious about her?”

I shrugged my shoulder again. Just like Diesel alwayssaid he knew me better than anyone, he wasn’t lying.
