My dick stirs again, making it difficult to walk back without seeming obvious. Thankfully, she’s sitting on the lounge with her head bowed down while I walk over and sit beside her.

“You look good in my shirt,” I say with a grin.

“I’m channeling somePretty Womanvibes with the tee and boots.”

“Hmm, you look hotter.”

She throws a cushion at me. “When did you become such a flirt? No wonder women are always throwing themselves at you.”

“Throwing themselves? A bit of an exaggeration.”

Jessa shakes her head with a simper. “Every time we used to go out, girls would always ask if you were my boyfriend. If I said no, they would try to get in your pants. So, I started to lie and tell them you were. I should apologize since I stopped you from getting laid several times.”

My shoulders move up and down while I chuckle at her comment. “Don’t feel bad. I used to do the same. I said you were only interested in girls. It was a mixed reaction at times.”

This time, she slaps my arm, but I stop her and latch onto her wrist. “This explains why every time I was with my girlfriends, guys would walk past sticking their tongues out!”

I let go of her wrist and instead tug a lock of her hair with a pout. “Sorry.”

“You’re not sorry,” she drags.

“You’re cute when you’re angry.”

“Cute is what you call a fluffy teddy or puppy. Cute is not me. Look at me?” she complains. “I look like death. I didn’t sleep last night, there are bags under my eyes, and if Eric saw me, he’d throw around the word Botox, then offer to book me in.”

She crosses her arms beneath her chest, and when she does, the hem of the shirt rises, exposing all her thighs. Fuck, I need a distraction.

“Why didn’t you sleep?”

Jessa shrugs, pressing her lips together. “Long story.”

“The reason why you’re here and not with your husband?”

She remains quiet, but I can read between the lines. I suspect they had a fight, not surprised at all since he was drunk last night. Toward the end of the night, he began mouthing off. The only one amused was Anastasia.

“If you want to talk about it, I’m not here to judge.”

“I don’t want to waste my breath.”

I won’t push her, distracted by her phone ringing. She lifts it up to see the screen, then lets out a huff before pressing reject. It’s an easy assumption the person calling is her husband, and he has no idea she’s here with me.

As I go to open my mouth, my phone rings this time, the nameNoahappearing on the screen.

“It’s Daddy,” I tease her.

“What does he want?”

“Probably work,” I answer, then hit accept on his call, placing him on speaker. “Noah.”

Jessa waves, mouthing for me not to mention she’s here. I poke her with my fingers, watching as she tries not to laugh, only for her to twist my arm like when we were kids.

“Andy, huge favor, and don’t kill me because my wife is already giving me death stares, which will undoubtedly result in no sex for the rest of the year.”

I hold in my laughter as Jessa’s eyes widen. She grabs the cushion and covers her face, keeping it there as Noah continues speaking.

“There’s been a last-minute change to one of the hotels. I need you to meet Anastasia in an hour, and we’ll conference in. I’m sorry, one of my employees fucked up, and if this isn’t fixed, we’ll pay for it.”

“Of course, I’ll head over in an hour.”
