“You want to break?” she asked, slicing into his thoughts.

He met her gaze, the green depths curious with a hint of playfulness. “Ladies first.”

Jupiter didn’t need to be told twice. She lined up the shot and took it. Balls scattered across the table, two going in right away. “Looks like I’m one through seven.”

“Nice shot.” He stood back and watched her slide the pole between her hands. Her movements were lithe and fluid as if she’d done this her whole life and not just the last two hours.

She hit two more in then turned the table to him. “All yours.”

Rubble walked by and the scent of brown sugar and cinnamon almost made him forget which balls he needed to put away. He cued up and easily hit two in but scratched on the next.

“Why don’t we make this more interesting,” Dolly said above the roar after each of them hit two more balls into the pockets.

“Such as?” Hawk called.

Dolly and Jupiter exchanged a secretive grin. “Loser is the winner’s drink bitch until after the winter games.” She held up her hand at the laughter. “And yes, the honor can be transferred if the winner sees fit.”

Rubble chuckled, already knowing he wouldn’t make Jupiter bring him drinks.

“Done,” Jupiter called, raising her glass of beer.

The bikers cheered in response, clinking their glasses and bottles together. Suddenly, the idea of winning didn’t seem so guaranteed.

Moving closer to Jupiter, Rubble leaned down. “Should I be worried you’re a pool shark?”

She laughed and shook her head. “I don’t know, should you?” Her green eyes twinkled, and it took every ounce of willpower to not capture her ruby lips then and there.

He lowered his voice and placed a hand on her waist. The merriment in her eyes quickly morphed into something more intense. “If you’re hustling me, baby girl, I’ll tie you to my bed and make you come until you beg me to stop.”

Jupiter’s breath hitched and her eyes darkened with lust. “I guess we’ll find out soon, won’t we?” She reached over and grabbed his cue stick. “To make it fair, I’ll play with yours if you play with mine.” Her face reddened at the statement, and she quickly hurried to take her shot.

Rubble’s mouth dropped open at the sensual intonation. It wasn’t what she meant, but he sure as hell knew she didn’t regret it. He stood back and kept his gaze locked on her movements.

Jupiter lined up the stick and sunk the first ball. She redirected the next hit to get two more in the side pockets. A hush fell over the room as she reared back to take on the nine ball.

Her eyes drifted to his momentarily and Rubble clenched his jaw. She winked once then let the cue stick fly. The crowd watched in silence as the ball rolled toward the left pocket. It teetered on the edge before slipping in the hole. The group went wild in that moment. Beer sloshed on the floor, howls of joy and disappointment filling the air.

Jupiter stood and walked over to him. She placed a hand on his chest, eyes never leaving his. “Huh, I guess youdidget hustled.”

She could’ve stopped there, but she didn’t. “You know, I’m feeling kind of thirsty after all that winning.” Her brows wiggled and she fanned her face. “Care to get me another beer, drink bitch?”

The bikers roared in laughter. Some slapped Jupiter on the back, others heckled him at the clear hustle. They all respected this woman. Rubble nodded. And rightly so.

Rubble was ready to bend her over the pool table and fuck her, but he wouldn’t. Not yet at least. Jupiter loved the attention her recent win earned her. Men and women alike surrounded her, offering compliments, and slathering her with praise.

All he could do was watch. She’d won, albeit by cheating, but she deserved this positivity in her life. After all she’d been through, Jupiter deserved the best.

“Guess she fooled you.”

He looked down and saw Dolly grinning from ear to ear. “You little shit. You knew the whole time.”

Dolly playfully punched his side. “Aw, come on, Rubble. It wasn’t all my idea. Give the girl a little credit.”

And he did. He’d give her credit for being a crafty billiards player. Jupiter was a woman who knew what she wanted, and she didn’t stop until she got it. She was quickly becoming his favorite person of all time. That worried him. He was falling for this wily woman and he couldn’t help himself.
