He chuckled. “If your makeup wasn’t streaking your face, I just may believe you.”

Touching her cheeks, she realized her mascara had indeed made its way down her face. She also felt wetness there. Whether it was sweat or tears, she suddenly didn’t care. Brewer had successfully fucked every concern right out of her.

“But as it is, I came five minutes ago, and I’m about to come again,” he said, putting her feet back on the floor and pulling her upright. As he kissed the side of her neck, Delphi turned and met his lips. She arched into his thrusts and felt his cock swell, emptying inside her. Tangling her arms around his neck, she leaned against him as he finished.

Her hands shook but she didn’t let go. This was as close as they could get, but somehow, she wanted to be closer.

His mouth grazed her shoulder. “You all right?”

“More than.”

Chuckling, he carefully picked her up and placed her back on the tattoo table. Crouching beside it, he pushed her hair away from her breasts, merely taking her in. “You’re stunning, Delphi. I mean it.”

She leaned up on her elbow and smiled. “You’re not bad yourself.”

“I hope not.” He trailed his fingers over her breasts and her nipples peaked. “As much as I’d like to take you again right here, we should probably go. The bar closes soon, and I don’t want anybody seeing you like this.” He leaned over and kissed her. “You’re much too precious for any of my brothers to witness.”

A pang of worry churned in her stomach, and she looked past him to the door. “Shit, you’re right.” Sitting up, she laughed at the turn of events she’d encouraged. She swung her legs over the side of the table and watched Brewer pick up the strewn clothes.

“Don’t take this the wrong way….”

Delphi’s body seized at the impending words.

He yanked his shirt over his shoulders. “But I’d really like to sleep with you tonight.”

A wave of relief washed over her. Quickly dressing, she watched him finish doing the same. His red hair was mussed in a sexy and irresistible way. If she let herself have more than a mere fling with Brewer, she was certain she’d fall head over heels for him.

“What do you say?” He brought her shoes over and slipped them onto her feet one at a time. “Want to be the little spoon all night? I can’t promise my dick won’t poke you, but if all we do is sleep, I’m okay with that.”

Standing up, she took his hand. “Believe me, I’ll want a lot more than sleep tonight.”

CHAPTER21

BREWER

Going backto Delphi’s was a horrible idea. Horribly terrific.

Brewer glanced over at her sleeping form. Curtains of dark brown hair spilled over the white pillowcase. Even in the dim lighting, her pale skin looked radiant. The makeup on her face was now long gone, her natural beauty keeping his eyes glued to every exposed inch.

Delphi’s arm jerked in her sleep, and he held in a chuckle. She truly was adorable, both awake and asleep. He shifted in his seated position, sleep evading him. He was a shit sleeper. Had been one his entire adult life. The time glowed on his cell phone. Even though it was nearly dawn, he knew he could survive off a few short hours.

He gently traced Delphi’s eyebrows. They were relaxed. She was somewhere in REM sleep, dreams overtaking her, no doubt. After locking up the bar, he’d followed her home, half expecting her to change her mind. She hadn’t. Instead, she’d all but mauled him on the stairway, not that he was complaining.Hell, we didn’t even make it to her apartment.

The coupling on the stairs wasn’t about to be outdone by the one on the couch, kitchen counter, shower, and then the finale in her bed. A small part of him worried she’d regret inviting him to stay. He’d fully intended to do precisely what he suggested. Cuddle with her all night. Nothing more, nothing less.

He smirked. That went straight out the window, and he didn’t give a damn. A glow from outside her window caught his eye. The sunrise would be beautiful—he just knew it. Most days, he was awake to see the sun wake on the horizon.

Swinging his feet to the floor, he winced at the squeaky bedsprings. The cool hardwood beneath his toes should’ve chilled him, but he ran hot most times. With Delphi next to him, it was impossible to be cold. She turned on every facet of his warmth.Gotta heat up those damn freezing feet of hers somehow.

The kitchen was right across from her bedroom. He carefully closed the door and padded to the sliding door that led to a small balcony. Spring hung in the air, birds chirping nearby despite the frost on the ground.

Closing his eyes, he inhaled the earthy aroma filling the air. Hands down, it was his favorite season. Starting fresh all around and looking forward to the summer heat. But mostly because after months of cold, he could get back on his motorcycle and ride until he exhausted himself.

“Early riser, huh?”

Her sleep-riddled voice made him smile. Turning, he took in the morning glory of Delphi Windsor. Her hair was piled high on her head in the messiest of buns with strands falling around her face. The baggy pair of green plaid pants she was wearing hung on her hips, and she’d paired it with a black tank top, her nipples peaked in the cool breeze. Topping the entire outfit was a fuzzy blue wrap that looked like a blanket cut to size.

She stepped out onto the balcony and rested her forearms on the metal railing. “My dad always liked watching the sunrise. My mom was more of a sunset kind of girl.” She smiled, their memories no doubt haunting her. “It made sneaking in at dawn kind of difficult.”
