“Does this mean you have to give Lorraine back to your dad?”
Harry barked a laugh and kissed me hard on the lips.
“For that, you’re not getting your panties back while I get you food.”
My stomach growled again, and Harry threw his head back, laughing.
“Stace, bodies are weird, funny and make noises and this doesn’t make me any less attracted to you right now. Do you hear me?”
I nodded.
“Let’s get you carbs from that fast food place on the highway because room service finishes in—” He glanced at his watch again. “Nineteen minutes. And you’ll need the energy because when we get back to my hotel room, I intend to make you scream my name several more times. Doctor’s orders, Anastasia.”
Health advice about carbohydrates had never sounded so good.

Could I stay the night with Harry?
My phone pinged as Harry accepted our food order from the drive-thru server. I’d just texted Sam and my mum, letting them know I’d left the dinner with Harry and was heading to the pub with him with a vague note I’d let her know when I’d be home.
Oh boy, I’d pretty much just texted Mum to say I was getting laid.
Shit.
But, staying the night with Harry meant taking off my clothes. He would finally see my scars.
No. Too soon.Maybe?
Oh, how I wanted to be in his bed and … My phone pinged.
I expected a reply from Sam, or even Mum, but it was something completely different. The Central Fire Service had sent a text calling for available volunteers to attend a grass fire near Ballydoon.
“Something wrong?” Harry said, handing me a large fries.
“Since I’m now back as crew for the Ballydoon Rural Fire Brigade, I get the call outs for a fire.”
“And there’s a fire tonight?”
Harry moved Lorraine out of drive-thru and parked.
“Yeah. Technically I’m on call. That’s why I didn’t drink.”
I bit my bottom lip.
“Stop,” he said.
“What?”
“You’re feeling guilty.”
