“Sorry,” she mumbled.

“Don’t be. It's cute.”

That made her blush even worse.

Damn Gabe for being so correct.

Still, just because she enjoyed being carried didn’t mean she was interested in any more than that. She was already sleeping with the rest of the pack, but that didn’t mean anything for her and I. A shame, really, because I knew a thousand ways I could ruin her, and every one of them would bring out that blush.

She squirmed under my attention. “You said you brought snacks?”

I fished out a pair of the granola bars Jasper and I had made a couple months ago and stashed in the freezer. She scarfed it down eagerly, and I took my time nibbling mine as I surveyed the sweeping valley below the viewing platform.

I gave her some time to recover before I turned more fully toward her. “What's your goal with the pack, Nicky?”

“Goal?” she squeaked. “Am I supposed to have one?”

“Some people would.” I shrugged. “We’re an obviously wealthy pack. It wouldn’t be the first time someone has tried to get in good with one of us.”

“To be fair,” she said, “I was minding my own business at work. Billie was the one who snared me into all of this. I didn’t know anyone had any money until I showed up at the house. Everyone's been so nice, god, and so pretty. I don’t even know what to do with myself most days.”

I laughed again, and Nicky's ears turned pink.

“You’re an honest sort of person aren’t you?”

“I try to be.” She shrugged. “I don’t want anything from anyone. I’m just enjoying the time I have, however long it ends up being. I feel wooed a hundred times a day, and it's not helping things that I sleep so well at the pack house. And now Spud and Roscoe are buddies. Sometimes it feels like I’m just dreaming and none of this is actually real.” She rubbed her legs. “Though the shin splints are really supporting reality right now.”

“What do you want withme, Nicky?”

Her breath turned shallow, and her eyes widened. “What doyouwant with me? I think that's a better question.”

“I don’t know about better,” I mused. “Maybe more dangerous.”

Nicky swallowed hard. “Dangerous?”

“I’m a little more…intense with my lovers than some of the rest of the pack is.”

“Oh?” Nicky's voice cracked.

I hid my smile by taking a drink. I tucked one of the hairs that had escaped her ponytail behind her ear and set my palm on the back of her neck like I had seen Tony do to her.

“I think we should approach things slowly. There's a lot that Gabe and Tony can teach you, and neither of them typically take things as far as I do.”

“Slow is okay. But you can’t say something like that and not explain. How do you take things far?”

I shrugged. “I enjoy a rougher experience and playing with items that might make a newbie uncomfortable.”

“Like what?” She shifted in place, her thighs flexing as she squeezed them together.

Interesting.

“Restraints are a favourite. Ropes, harnesses, spreader bars, collars.”

Nicky squeaked again, her face lighting up with pink that hadn’t faded from her last blush.

“Not everyone wants to be tied up and used.”

She made a small sound that I couldn’t quite discern the meaning behind.
