“It's up to you. Dr. J at the clinic is great and she's always doing research and stuff to help patients. If nothing else, she would probably know about a specialist that you could ask.
“Dr. J is great,” Luna added.
“I guess that's true. Okay, maybe I’ll swing by when work is over just to be safe. I just really don’t know what to do with myself. I went from one partner to three at once and—”
“Girl,what?” Allie gasped.
“You had a fourway?!” Luna shrieked.
“Shhh! Yes, and Iknow. It's only been four days. If I didn’t know any better, I would think I was body snatched.”
“Have you considered the fact that they’re all just really hot?” Luna asked.
“I was a terrified prude before I got with Sidney,” Allie said. “I barely ever played and stuck pretty much exclusively to heats, and now I can basically get railed ten times a day if I wanted to.”
My stomach heaved. “That was information I could’ve done without.”
Allie cackled. “I’m just saying. Things can take some drastic turns when you have the right partner, orpartnersin your case. There's different energy and different dynamics.”
“I guess that's true.”
“Are they attentive lovers?” Meg asked.
“I’m beginning to regret this conversation…”
“Shut up and answer the question.” Allie laughed.
“Okay,fine. They’re all great. I learned too many new things about myself.”
Luna giggled. “Yeah, you did!”
“And how invested were previous partners with making sure you were comfy? Were they open to exploration?” Meg asked.
“I mean, not very. We both got the job done for each other most of the time, but it wasn’t anything spectacular or beyond vanilla in any way.”
“Can I make an observation?” Meg asked.
“Please do,” I replied.
“I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that you’re probably a very spicy lady, Nicky, and no one in your past ever unlocked that. You can kind of get a sense of people, and I think you’re just finally getting what you need.”
“I agree with Meg,” said Allie. “It sounds like you had a really good time, and I would tell you not to freak out, but I know it's not your specialty. Have a few more sexy nights, and if you decide it's not for you, that's okay, but itreallyseems like it's for you.”
I let out an absolutely pitiful sound and finished shelving the last book on my cart. “Okay, fine.”
“Pleasekeep us posted,” Luna requested. “I want to know if you add the other two to the mix.”
I snorted. “You’re a terrible little gossip, Luna. I love you all so much.”
Allie snickered. “We love you too, babe. I’m being summoned to bed. Have a good rest of your night.”
“Sweet dreams.”
We all hung up and I rolled everything back to the front desk. A fresh gaggle of university students flooded the library after having gorged themselves on caffeine at the café. At least I wouldn’t be stuck with silence.
It was so tempting to text Billie, but they were giving me space and I was trying to honour that even though it made my mind spin in circles.
