“What do I owe this call for cousin?” I laugh.

“I’m so sorry, Dante, I didn’t realize until recently that the school stayed open after I left.” Anatonia’s voice is tight and full of emotion. This isn’t her. She’s usually calm, cool, and collected. She is a force to be reckoned with. She runs the Russian mob as the first female and is stronger than any other Bratva Pakhan. She is feared by most other families, not only because of her but because her husband, Vitaly, will kill anyone that crosses his wife.

“Slow down, Anatonia. What are you saying?” I stand and face the window, worried about my wife. We thought we neutralized any enemies. My father and I cleaned house, as they say, and anyone associated with Livia and Trevor was killed or forced to follow the family.

“I did some more deep searches and I think I know where Luna ended up for a few years.”

Everything in my body locks up. It can’t be true; it’s been years since she was sighted. It’s why I think she’s dead.

“She’s dead, Ana.” The words slip from my lips, but I don’t truly believe them as I say them.

“She isn’t, but she probably wished she were. She was at the same school I was. She was trained to kill. I don’t know who paid to send her yet. I don’t know where she ended up. But she was very much alive when she graduated and very much a killer. Maybe more so than myself.”

My cousin was left alive to kill all the Lupos. Her uncle had sent her to a private school that taught her to fight and kill. It’s why most people fear her. But if sweet little Luna went there, there is no telling what she was like when she came out.

Why was she sent?
