“You’re that scared to eat my cooking?” The playful comment didn’t hide the heat in his gaze.

“I’m not scared of anything with you.” Reaching under her skirt, she removed her panties and dangled them from one finger. “Let me prove it.”

Sam’s eyes darkened. The man was hungry, and it wasn’t for dinner. He pushed off the wall. Hard knocking at the nearby door stopped him before he took one full step toward her.

“Your sick friend dropped something from her bag.” More knocking accompanied the same voice from the hallway. Sam’s cranky neighbor.

“Leave it, Mrs. Fewster. I’ll get it later,” Sam said, his heated gaze not straying from Leigh for a single second.

“You can open the door and take it now or I’m throwing it in the trash. I’m not leaving something inappropriate in plain view, for anybody walking by to see.”

Sam’s eyebrows rose. “Guess I’d better open the door and take possession of whateverinappropriateitem fell out of your bag.” His lips curved with amusement as he moved toward the door.

“Wait—I have to get my clothes on.”

He nabbed the panties and bra, grinning when she attempted to wrestle them from his fist.

“Sam, I need those.”

“Jump and get them,” he said, raising his hand higher.

“You just want to see my boobs bounce.”

“Yup. And not ashamed to admit it.”

If he wanted to play dirty, she’d play dirty. Rubbing up against him, she worked her hand inside the front of his shorts and stroked his thick cock. “Please give me my bra.”

“You don’t have a bra. This one’s mine now.”

She grabbed his arm, pulled with all her might, but the damn thing didn’t lower an inch. All it did was make him laugh.

Another knock at the door prompted him to gently shake her loose. “Better get your shirt on.” His gaze dropped to her boobs. “Or don’t. I’m good, either way.”

Scrambling—and mildly fuming—she grabbed the blouse, slipped it on and had fifty percent of the buttons secured by the time Sam opened the door. Which she hid behind.

“Take it.” The woman sounded as if she’d just handed off something repugnant.

“Just obeying the condo bylaws and ensuring you don’t have to listen to any crying babies.” His voice remained friendly, but there was no mistaking the nuance of antagonism. “By the way, you might want to turn up your TV tonight.”

“Why?”

“Because you know how thin the walls are, and there’s no bylaw against making your girlfriend moan.”

Cranky neighbor lady uttered something in another language, after which Sam laughed and closed the door.

“What did she say?” Leigh asked, as Sam tucked the troublemaking condom packet into his pocket.

“No clue.”

“Then why did you laugh?”

“Because she gave me the finger.”

“Wow, I didn’t think people her age used that gesture. Though, you did egg her on with that comment about making your girlfriend moan.”

“It wasn’t a comment for effect, I plan to make good on that promise.” He threaded their fingers together and led her into the main living area, where he faced her while taking ahold of her other hand. “I apologize if I embarrassed you. Mrs. Fewster and I have a history, but I shouldn’t have brought you into the feud.”

“I don’t care about that. And I’m not embarrassed, as long as she didn’t actually see anything that happened near the elevator.”
