Just an hour later, he was seated in the center of some cell that Jameson said he used for his victims. All those poor girls, raped and tortured, tossed to the gators out in the bayou. It was fuckin’ sick.
Straps had been secured around his ankles and wrists and a gag placed in his mouth. I didn’t want to hear a fuckin’ word he tried to say until we were ready. It took a couple of days for all of the presidents of the chapters to arrive for a mandatory Church meeting.
It was gonna be one to remember.
Staring down at Rancid, I removed the gag as he snarled a vicious fuck you.
Jameson’s smile was pure evil. “I finally get to see your ugly face.”
“Untie me, you fucking shit, and have at me man to man.”
“Too late for that,” I interjected.
“Don’t think for one second that I won’t put you down like the dog you are. Fuck,” Jameson snorted. “A dog is more human than you are. You deserve special treatment.”
I handed the blowtorch in my hand to Jameson.
“Remember this?” He yanked up his sleeve. “Because I still do.” Leaning forward, Jameson glared at the man who had stolen everything from him. “You’re about to feel the most unbearable pain possible. I’m gonna enjoy the sounds of your screams.”
Lighting up the torch, he slowly focused the flame on Rancid’s arm and proceeded to burn off the tattooed patch. The odor of burnt flesh filled the metal shed as I resisted the urge to gag. Rancid’s high pitched screams echoed all around us. After a few minutes of convulsing in his chair, he slumped over and passed out.
“Fuck,” Jameson snarled. “I was hoping he’d last longer. Wake him up.”
“With pleasure,” I announced, taking a pair of plyers off the wall. Sinking to one knee, I started with his pinky toe and squeezed hard, snapping the bones inside. Rancid woke up instantly, a scream lodged in his throat as I clamped down on the next toe.
Drool dribbled down the asshole’s chin and he was only partially lucid. I didn’t hesitate to go for the third, clamping down a little too hard as it dangled at an odd angle. He was never walking again. I’d make sure of that.
Jameson winced. “Fuck, that had to have hurt.”
Rancid was completely knocked out. Weak son of a bitch. He could inflict pain but couldn’t take it all. None of his victims ever got a break. He wasn’t either.
Jameson sloshed a bucket of cold water against his face as Rancid sputtered, gasping for breath. He opened his mouth and laughed an eerie sound that grated against every nerve in my body. He began talking, spouting off shit he knew would piss us both off. He was looking for a death wish, just waiting for us to lose our shit and end him.
Not gonna be that quick or easy, you fuckin’ piece of shit.
“I’ll never forget Willow’s sweet screams as I fucked her in the ass. So damn tight.”
Jameson slammed his fist into his jaw and silenced Rancid, chest heaving as the asshole spit blood onto the floor.
“She cried as she came on my cock and I forced her to look in the mirror. Such pretty fuckin’ tears.”
Jameson slammed his fist into his nose, and I heard the satisfying crunch as it broke.
“That’s when I slit her throat and fucked the life right out of her.”
Evil, pure fuckin’ evil.
A roar launched from my throat and I was the one to hit him next, knocking his skull back against the metal bars of the cell. Dazed, his head slumped forward.
I couldn’t listen to anymore.
My sister must have felt so lonely and abandoned, frightened and in pain. We failed to protect her, allowed her to fall into the hands of the vilest monster I’d ever met in my life. Willow was the only light in my dark world, and she had been snuffed away. I promised to protect her since we were little kids, hiding from our abusive stepfather, just like Grim found us that morning so long ago.
I’d never be satisfied with the extent of Rancid’s suffering. He never loved anyone like that, and so he would never understand the loss and devastation that resulted from it. His death would never atone for his crimes.
“You’re gonna pay for this,” he slurred.
“If you can walk away, we’ll let you.”
