“Fuck no, they won’t, but I get it. Don’t worry. I got you. I’ll touch this nasty dick on your behalf.” Sawyer winks at me and turns back to Cornelius.

The asshole vampire won’t give up, and it takes Monroe stepping on his other foot to restrain him. I can’t take my eyes off the vampire’s naked junk. Knox stares at the side of my face, watching me watch his two friends as they get ready to do something crazy. Something I can’t even process. You have to be twisted as fuck to come up with a punishment like this. I realize that their brand of crazy gets to me in a good way. If I hadn’t had a moment to just be near them and see their civility, I might be freaked out. Sick even. Now? I just want Sawyer to hurry up. I want that dick to stop whirling in circles. I want to hear the sound of the bastard’s pain.

My feet take on a mind of their own, and I shuffle closer, tugging Knox with me. He hugs his arm around me like he’s preparing for me to lose my mind when Sawyer follows through. The other vampires stand in stiff silence, bracing for what surely is one of the worst things that they think could happen to them.

Wiggling his fingers, Sawyer grabs Cornelius’s cock and stretches it. He screams at a pitch so intense that I flinch. Monroe whips Cornelius’s belt off of him and shoves it in his mouth, trying to gag him. I squeeze Knox’s hand tighter until he gets me to hug his side instead.

Sawyer tips his head back and laughs, releasing his grip on Cornelius’s cock. “You’re such a fuckhead. Did you just shit yourself?”

Cornelius heaves a few breaths, his fear turning into relief when he realizes Sawyer let him go. I’ve never seen a vampire cry, and I don’t know how I feel about it. And the fact that Sawyer doesn’t cut off—

Moving faster than I can keep up with, Sawyer yanks Cornelius’s cock again and swipes his sharp blade through the shaft. Blood pours from the severed member, and Cornelius screeches and thrashes, bucking his body until he manages to look down at the one-inch bloody nub and passes out.

“Be fucking thankful I left you with an angry inch and your damn balls,” Sawyer snaps, kicking the unconscious vampire in the stomach. Waving the severed dick, he whacks the Grey coven leader in the face, leaving a bloody mark on his cheek. “If I ever see you guys around here again, it’ll be more than your dicks that you’ll need to worry about. Now take your damn brother and guards, and get the fuck out of here. Leave Aris out of it. Understand?”

“Yes,” Mr. Grey says, motioning to the other to grab Cornelius and the dead guards. “May I take my brother’s member?”

Sawyer scoffs and holds it out. Closing his hand, he uses his vampire strength to crush it into a pile of guts. He flicks them into the coven leader’s face with a laugh. “That’s the best I’m giving you. Now take the back way from the hotel. Monroe will see you out.”

The vampire coven disappears along with Monroe, leaving me alone with Knox and Sawyer. The two of them drink me in without saying a word. I struggle to put my thoughts together. I can barely grasp what just happened.

And then my gaze lands on Quartz’s body.

“How could Master Aris let this happen?” I murmur, pulling away from Knox. “What did we do to deserve this? I don’t understand.”

“Ruby?” Knox says softly, remaining by my side.

I finally manage to break my stare from Quartz. “It’s Hayley. My real name is Hayley.”

“Hayley,” both Knox and Sawyer say in unison, repeating it to me as if discovering that my name isn’t actually Ruby is the wildest thing of the night.

“It won’t be like this forever,” Knox says, stroking his fingers on my arms.

I laugh. I can’t help it. His comment is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. “Yes, it will. This is my life. It’s only going to get worse.” Because now that I’m out of immediate danger, I realize just how bad this situation is. “Alexander set me up for punishment. He’s been especially hard on me lately, and while I appreciate what you’ve done...I’m terrified. I don’t know what the hell I’m going to do. He’s going to murder me. He’ll blame me.”

Knox growls under his breath. “It wasn’t your fault.”

“None of this would’ve happened had I minded my place and done as I was told despite everything.” It’s how I was raised. Shut up. Keep my eyes down. Obey. Know who owns me. It’s those things I should’ve just gone with. “If Alexander finds out you guys did this on my behalf...” I can’t even think about it. Tears burn my eyes, and I cover my face with my hands.

“What are you talking about? We didn’t do shit for you. These assholes had a debt with the Bella Crew,” Sawyer says, his voice deep and serious. I almost believe his lie.

I sniffle and wipe my hands to my cheeks. “He can open our minds. He’ll find out.”

Sawyer and Knox glance at each other, remaining expressionless. They converse in silence as they let my words sink in.

Sawyer’s jaw twitches. “Then I’ll make sure he can’t. Mind manipulation is my specialty.”

My heart pounds in my chest, crashing hard enough I think it might break free and throw itself at the vampire. “You’re going to erase my memory?”

“And the other performers’...if that’s okay,” Sawyer says, meeting my gaze. “They will only think that the Greys killed your friend and then ran because they were afraid.”

“Will you make me forget all of this?” I wave my hand around. “Please? I just want to forget this night ever happened.”

Sawyer glances at Knox again and the both of them nod in agreement. Knox takes my hand and says, “If that’s what you want.”

I bob my head. “I do.”

Cupping my face too quickly to react, Sawyer leans in, filling my vision with his handsome face. Knox remains close, holding my slackening body, and I lose myself in Sawyer’s sky blue eyes, a few shades lighter than Knox’s.

“Don’t break my gaze,” Sawyer commands, his eyes turning silver.

The world melts away.
