I glance at Hayley sitting on the bed and quickly close the door. “What the fuck?” I ask, not waiting for him to approach me.

“They took my wife!” the man yells, gasping for breath. “You have to help me.”

I frown. “What do you mean?”

“Aris! The Aris Hotel came in. They took her. They had a contract.” The man covers his face with his hands. “How could you?”

I growl and pull out my com device, tapping the screen. Shit. The fucking bastard Aris. These weren’t supposed to be live donations. I worked everything out beforehand.

“Go back to your room. I’ll take care of it,” I mutter.

Sawyer and Knox materialize at the end of the hallway, and I shake my head in anger. I don’t even have to ask them to know that something changed. Something is fucking wrong.

“Aris filed a complaint with the leadership,” Sawyer says before I can ask. “He claims our presence led to him losing business. To stop further bullshit, he demanded he take live donations to ensure he gets the blood. We’re not the only ones. They’re targeting all hotels not run by covens. They’re scared.”

I growl. “They better fucking b—”

“Monroe?” Hayley’s soft voice calls from behind me.

Turning, I spot her wrapped in only my blankets, her eyes searching over the three of us. “Alexander took donors from here? Because of me?”

I whip my head. “No, he took them because of us, but we’ll fucking fix this. His control is up.”

“Damn right,” Knox says.

Sawyer growls under his breath. “This is what we needed to give other crews a push. They’ll realize we’ve been right all along.”

“You remember what I told you?” I ask her, sending blush to her cheeks. I tighten my jaw, trying not to smile at her reaction. “Those fuckers are going to pay.”
