The world spins and my back lands on the bed, now wet with shower water from our bodies and blood from each other. I force him over and get on top, riding him hard until he grunts with his orgasm. I lay on top of him, only for him to grab the covers and shift back onto me, hiding us from the world in the blankets.

He smiles and kisses my throat as if he can’t get enough. If a tap didn’t sound on the door, interrupting our moment, he might even want to go at it again.

“We’re busy!” Knox calls, grinning at the sound of a groan muffling in the hallway. It’s Monroe. “You and Sawyer already got to fuck our girl since we arrived. It’s my turn and I’m going to savor every second of it.”

I laugh, rubbing my nose to his, kissing him once more. “You don’t have to wait outside, Monroe. I think we’re beyond those boundaries. But...be pre—”

“Fucking hell. This place is a mess, and my damn balls feel as if they’re going to explode just from the scent.” Monroe kicks the door closed behind him, folding his arms over his chest.

I hide my face in the crook of Knox’s throat. “Keep that kind of talk up, and you’re going to end up in a cold shower. It’s weird.”

“Weird? Fuck that. I want you to know all the time how much you get to me. How much I desire you. It’s taking all my strength not to fly toward that bed, unwrap you like the gift you are, and have my way. I don’t care if Knox watches. He’s a voyeur and doesn’t know it yet.” I listen as Monroe’s boots thud across the floor, and the bed shifts as he sits on the end.

I laugh and squirm as he grabs my ankle, trying to yank me toward him, but Knox doesn’t let me go. “Careful, you two. I’m still in the mood to wrestle.”

Monroe flops next to me, sandwiching me to Knox through the blankets. He messes with them, looking for an opening and manages to sneak his hand inside our blanket burrito until he squeezes my bare ass. “I like the sound of that. Give it to me wild, Hayley. Scratch me, bite me, growl at me. Let’s just let our primal desires take over. But be careful. It’ll be me claiming you.”

I giggle with his words, squirming as he tries to make his way between my legs with his fingers. He’s not even fazed that I just fucked Knox.

Knox chuckles and throws the blanket off, linking his fingers around my wrist and pulling my hands over my head. Monroe purrs deep in his throat, his gaze devouring the sight of my body as I lie on the bed, still damp with the bloodstains that only belong to me and Knox.

His tongue glides across his lips until he sucks in his bottom lip with a smile. “Damn. Sawyer is going to be pissed if we celebrate without him, but I might just accept his wrath. I’m sure he’ll be back in a couple of hours. I can’t imagine an afterparty going on for that long with donors.”

My eyes widen with his words, and I use all my strength to break free of Knox, stopping Monroe from trying to tease me with his hands.

“You damn mood killer. You could’ve waited just a bit longer.” Knox swings his fist and clocks Monroe in the shoulder, knocking him onto his back.

Positioning his hands behind his head, Monroe crosses his legs and gets comfortable. All he does is smile, his sharp fangs extended and ready to bite at my command. Either that, or he’s really fucking excited. I know vampires extend their fangs when they’re in certain moods. Hungry and horny. Both, maybe.

“An afterparty? We never had those with Vampire Nights except to entertain Alexander’s guests. Is it like that? I need to know what to prepare for. I don’t like surprises.” My stomach bunches with nerves, and I try to shimmy my way out from between Knox and Monroe, but they both fling an arm around me, sandwiching me between their bodies again.

“It doesn’t sound like it. Lawrence doesn’t seem to have many friends. He controls this whole town and doesn’t trust anyone. I couldn’t imagine him trusting his sole form of entertainment in the hands of another. It’s not like dhampirs are easy to come by. Plus, I would never fucking allow it. The only one you’re ever going to entertain after hours and off the stage is us, and only if you want to. Like now. Sawyer can handle his ass. He probably needs a moment to chill after his fight anyway. You should’ve seen him. He—”

Knox growls and slaps his hand over Monroe’s mouth, covering it. “Let Sawyer tell her what he wants to tell her.”

My eyebrows knit together with my concern. I know that Sawyer isn’t a killer. At least, he doesn’t do so to donors. And now that I think about it, I need to go to him. He might be worried about me as well.

Groaning, Monroe rolls off the bed and scrubs his hands into his beard. I realize that blood splatters across his face, lingering from the show. His shirt fares no better. “Fine. I’ll grab her something to wear. You have to fend for yourself, though. Maybe she can shower again. I don’t want anyone else to smell her as she is right now. You really worked her over good.”

Blush burns my cheeks, and I cover my face with my hands, inhaling a few breaths, trying to calm my nerves. My emotions run rampant, and I try to process how many I’ve gone through tonight. Fear, anger, pride, lust, happiness, grief, numbness. It’s far more than I’ve felt in a long time. I’m used to always leveling between fear and anxiousness, and now I’m getting whiplash with this rollercoaster my life turned into.

Without arguing, Knox lifts me from the bed and into his arms, carefully carrying me over the glass still glittering on the floor in the bathroom. He helps me the entire time we shower until he relocates me back into the room, where I spot Monroe holding out a mini dress covered in sequins. Beside it, he lays down a pretty navy-blue wig along with a bunch of glittering jewelry. I’ve never worn much in my life because of my performance. I smile and pick up one of the necklaces, running my finger over the sapphire stone.

“This is beautiful,” I say, smiling at Monroe. I lift my hair up and allow him to fasten it around my neck.

“It has a tracker in it. All of the jewelry does.” Monroe stands super close and fastens the chain. “Sorry if I’m a bit paranoid. You should’ve heard the disgusting assholes at the show and how much they wanted you. I wouldn’t put it past anyone trying to kidnap you, and we don’t really know our way around here that well. We don’t have the same access and power that we had in La Vega. It was already bad enough there with Alexander arranging other hotels to get you.”

Relief floods through me, his thoughtfulness getting to me on a level that makes me feel as if I’m as precious as the gemstone hanging around my neck.

“I love them all. And I love that you want to make sure I’m okay all the time. How did you even get these?” I ask, turning my arm back-and-forth, watching the light reflect off of the diamonds of the bracelet.

“We brought them. We brought a lot of things that we haven’t declared in front of Lawrence. He can’t know.” Monroe purses his lips, hiding them within his beard. “We need to have an advantage all the time. We also have a communication line open with Aris.”

“You talk to Alexander?” My heart races just thinking his name. I knew Sawyer had something in the works with him, but I hate to even think about it. I hate that he’s working with Alexander and Lawrence at all.

Knox thins his lips together, bobbing his head, answering for Monroe. “I guess we haven’t had too much time to go over everything, have we? I’m sorry for that, but yes, we have arrangements with Alexander. But now that Lawrence is in the picture and Sawyer changed things a bit, we aren’t exactly sure where we stand. We’re still waiting for him to contact us with what exactly he wants us to do, considering that Lawrence wants you part of the year.”

“Oh.” I don’t know what else to say. My mind shuts down, and all I can do is stare at the glittering sequins on the tight dress.
