I slowly nod my head in approval. “Don’t worry, Cooper. You’re part of the Bella Crew now. You’ll always have allies and family who are worthy of you.” I know it’s hard for me to trust him, but this proves a lot. Some vampires side with whoever they feel is strongest, and I know it’s not the case for Cooper. He believes in our cause because it’s his cause too.
“You have my loyalty. I hope you know that I was never going to put Hayley into danger. I was saving her by going along with this.” Cooper grabs his sister from Hayley and proves his point and allegiance by stabbing her in the back and making her scream. It helps that he hasn’t seen her in a couple of years. She’s probably not even close to the same person he knew as a donor. This life changes you.
I turn to Hayley. “You want to do the honors and take one of his fingers?”
Hayley hesitates as the thought crosses her mind. She slowly shuffles closer and stands in front of Falo. He growls and gnashes his teeth, trying to bite at her, but there’s no way he could get within her reach. Darting out her hand, she snatches his wrist and yanks his arm away from his body. I expect her to reach for a knife, but she surprises the hell out of me once more and brings the fucker’s finger to her mouth.
I stare in amazement as she chomps down as hard as she can, using her teeth until she snaps his index finger clean off. She spits it out, and drops of blood trickle down her chin. Holy shit. That’s my fucking woman. Fucking glorious.
Falo hollers in pain, his voice echoing through the concrete stairwell. Hayley’s eyes flash silver, and she punches him in the bloody throat, silencing him for a second.
“You’re a dead man if you betray us. I’m part of the Bella Crew, and everyone will know soon enough. If you try anything, your fate will be worse than losing your fucking cock. I’ll devour you inch by inch and spit you out to the masses. You’re not in control anymore. I am.” Hayley pinches his chin and lifts up his lip. I can see what’s on her mind clearly written on her face. She wants to do more than remove his finger.
And after everything she’s been through, I’m going to give her what she wants.
“Do you want to take his fangs, little bird? I’m down with that.” I smile at her, gripping Falo tighter.
“You psycho!” Lilac shouts.
I jerk my attention to Cooper. “Go take her now and meet us back in the room. Make sure she’s secure.”
Cooper disappears without hesitation, obeying me as if I’m the one in charge. And maybe I am in this moment. I’ve gone a little bit rogue, considering Sawyer and Knox aren’t here. But I know they would be on my side. They would want me to do this, because this is an opportunity we can’t lose. We have surprise on our hands. Both Lawrence and Aris think we’re on their sides but also trying to cross them, and now we’re on our own and can take care of them all.
I’ll see to it.
“I have some pliers in my pocket, little bird. Do as you wish. I’ll hold him tight. Don’t worry.” I grin at Hayley as her hand slides into my pocket, and she rubs her fingers along the hard curve of my cock, fully ready to go at it again with her.
She smiles and positions the pliers to Falo’s right fang. “You’re never going to fucking bite anyone again.”
I had no idea I could love her even more.
I savor the sound of Falo’s screams.

“You should’ve seen the little minx. It was so fucking hot, watching her get her revenge and justice for being treated like a fucking piece of property. The whole world is going to know that she’s not. She’s part of the Bella Crew.” I shake Hayley by her shoulders, leaning in and kissing her neck. “I just want to fuck the hell out of her and reward her for being such a little badass.”
She laughs as I give her a little hump, showing her exactly what she does to me. I know she still might be trying to grasp everything that’s happening and process the whirlwind of emotions coursing through her, but I want her to always know that it’s okay to be as bad as our enemies. She’ll never be a villain or a monster. She’ll just be my badass woman.
Knox cocks his head, his face expressionless, but I can tell he’s not pleased. He worries far more than I do. So does Sawyer. They need to learn that our girl can handle a lot more, even if they don’t think she should. I don’t think she should, but on the other hand, I’d prefer to know that she can. I’ll support her in all her savagery. She’ll never feel as if she’s done something wrong or crazy. It’s hard to beat me anyways. The world better watch out.
I glower and bare my fangs at Knox as he closes the space, ignoring me as he searches Hayley’s eyes.
“Are you okay? You’ve been through so much in just a few hours. Do you need help? You know we’re here for you.” He’s referring to mind manipulation. That’s Sawyer’s specialty, but I don’t like it. I think it’s more important for her to be able to learn how to handle everything on her own instead of having us just wipe it away.
I would never say as much, though. If it’s what Hayley wants, then she’ll get it. What she wants is the most important thing, regardless of how I feel.
I just hate the idea of being able to prod around inside of someone’s head and mess with their mental state. It gets a lot of donors in trouble and is one of their biggest weaknesses. It’s how Lawrence keeps everyone compliant. The same goes for other covens running the hotels. It’s a lot of work constantly manipulating donors’ minds, as things can break them out of the manipulation, but they do it anyways. I bet some hotels line them up daily and have their ways. Fuckers. It pisses me off thinking about it.
Hayley audibly swallows, and I wish I could see her face. I know she worries about how we perceive her. “I’m surprisingly fine. I don’t know. It felt...” Her skin warms under my touch, her blush clearly showing her embarrassment over her thoughts. She doesn’t have to say it out loud for us to know that she liked the feeling of being in control. She liked putting a fucking bastard in his place.
I groan and kiss her throat again. “It was fucking amazing, wasn’t it? He cried like a weak little bastard.”
Hayley laughs in exasperation, her muscles finally loosening. “I never thought I would enjoy something so...gross. A bit psycho. But damn. He deserved it. I bet he’s done worse.”
“Fuck yeah, he has. I can already tell just by the way he has shit set up. He would be doing no favors to La Vega, and we have enough twisted assholes against humanity.” Sawyer finally speaks up, trying to show his support in a way that makes Hayley not feel as if he judges her. Because he doesn’t. It’s just hard knowing exactly how to handle certain things with her. A simple sentence could throw her off completely and shut her down. It’s going to take a long time to help her work past the years of abuse. It’s why we’re so cautious. But on the other hand, that’s why I feel as I do about mind manipulation.
“Well, you know if you need us for anything, we are here for you. If you just want to talk it through or if you want us to help you, you know, forget, we can do that too.” Knox glides his knuckles over her cheek and leans in to kiss her. I finally let her go, because she wraps her arms around his neck and kisses him deeper, sensually, so fucking seductively that if I remain within reach of her, I’ll want to join in. I don’t even care if I have to take turns with Knox. She can give both of us attention. All three of us. She’s already proved as much, and she enjoys it. But we need to stay focused. We need to ensure at least one of us has attention on what’s happening outside of this damn room. Cooper still hasn’t come yet, and if he doesn’t in the next couple minutes, I know I’m going to be the one who has to go find his ass. Sawyer and Knox are still up in the air about him. They’re a bit angry that he was in that position in the first place. But they don’t know what it’s like to constantly have to face other vampires that are stronger than them. They can hold their own around mostly anyone. But Cooper? He’s untrained. He has a weak bloodline, and because he’s kept practically starved all the time, he doesn’t have the same power.
