I grin at her and climb the stairs, holding the door open for her to follow me into the living room. She shuffles to her spot on the couch, a blanket piled next to the throw pillow, and she returns to watching TV.

I don’t linger long and climb the stairs, cutting down the hallway at the next landing to the double doors at the end.

Holy hell. The scent of sex is strong enough for me to pick up out here. I do have a more sensitive nose than my brothers, but damn. I never smelled anything like this, and it kind of weirds me out. I don’t exactly want to smell my brother on anything, especially Kinsey right now, but I push through it and make my way to the room.

I knock my knuckles to the door. “Enzo, it’s me.”

Taking a step back, I scratch my fingers through my golden-brown hair, rocking on my feet, bracing myself for him to open the door. I’m a bit jealous but not because Kinsey is with Enzo. I’m jealous because I’m not a fucking alpha. It’s never bothered me so much until this moment. A part of me might always be lacking.

Cracking the door open, Enzo meets me with a grin, his whole face lit up unlike anything I’ve ever seen on him. I give him one look, seeing faint scratch marks on his shoulders, his black hair a mess, and him only wearing boxers. The lucky bastard.

I flare my nostrils, smelling the scent of Kinsey all over him. She made sure of it that everyone would know that they bonded in such a way. And thinking about Kinsey strikes me right in the balls. Fuck, I just want to see her.

Enzo looks like he’s about to block my way, but Kinsey’s soft voice channels through the air as she calls for him.

I push the door open over his shoulder, catching sight of her cocooned on his bed in the blankets, her cleavage peeking out, but I can’t see anything else.

Kinsey sits up, greeting me with a dazzling smile. “Desmond, you’re here! I’m so happy you finally made it. What about your brothers?”

What about them? I can’t stop the silent question to myself. Because they don’t matter right now. All that matters to me is moving closer and ensuring she’s okay. She was a mess when Enzo drove off, and the sadness and fear in her emerald eyes imprinted in my head.

“May I come in?” I ask, flicking my attention to Enzo. He has every right to deny me. I don’t know how much time it’s been, not that I want to know, but he’s going to be fucking moody as hell for a while. Obsessed. Overprotective. Possessive.

Enzo dips his chin in silent agreement, moving out of the way. Thank God he still carries some sense.

Wiggling her hands at me, Kinsey sets my heart racing, the new softness of her happiness filling me up in the best way. She stretches more, silently asking me to hurry the fuck up and close the space. I mind myself and stand at the edge of the bed instead of plopping down like I would in any other circumstance.

I take her hand and swing her arm back and forth, forcing my mouth to match hers with my grin. “I see my brother has taken good care of you. I’m so relieved to see you smiling again.”

Heat flushes her face, turning her cheeks rosy. “He did. I’m relieved that you’re here. I’ve been worried. What happened with everything? What about that man? He was a regular at the Vixen Lounge. Do you think Madame Tamsin sent him?” The questions spill from her mouth, and I consider leaning forward to interrupt her with a kiss, giving me a moment to think things through. The last thing I want to do is to ruin her special moment with my brother. I don’t want to be the reason her smile falters or why she loses it altogether.

“We’re taking care of it. You don’t have to worry.” I squeeze her hand.

“Why don’t you relax for a bit and watch some TV while I make you some dessert? I’ll send Holly up if you don’t want to be alone. I just need a couple of minutes with Desmond.” Enzo strolls to the other side of the bed and leans down, kissing Kinsey softly.

I look away, trying to act like I don’t want to kiss her next. But damn. I can’t stop thinking about her mouth now. I bet she tastes just as sweet as she smells.

Kinsey looks between us, her nose crinkling. I expect her to argue, and if she did, I know we’d give in and not go, but she says, “Yeah, of course. You don’t have to send Holly up right now. I’ll just relax for a bit longer and get dressed to join you downstairs. I’d really like to see the rest of the place.”

“Anything for you, baby,” Enzo says, kissing her once more.

“He’s right,” I add, hoping my voice doesn’t give away my slight jealousy.

Enzo motions for me to follow him, but Kinsey snatches my arm, surprising me. I don’t have a chance to catch myself as I fall onto the bed. Enzo sucks in a breath, his alpha nature probably kicking him in the balls. He manages to keep his mouth shut, burning his gaze into us. Kinsey crawls over me, her amazing tits right in my line of sight. A smile crosses my face, and she leans down, brushing her lips to mine.

“Don’t think you can come in here and get away with a handshake,” she whispers, wrapping her arms around me.

“I just wasn’t sure if anything changed. We can talk about it all together later though, if you want.” I hug her for a moment, breathing in her hair. I imagine what it would be like to scent her, leaving my mark behind. But it just doesn’t work like that for me.

“I’d like that,” she says, shifting off me. Flicking her gaze to Enzo, she smiles at him. “I’ll be fast.”

I push up from the bed and join Enzo in the hallway, looking over my shoulder once more as Kinsey drops the blanket completely, exposing her beautiful naked body to the two of us. And damn. How can I leave that? It takes me patting Enzo’s back to get him to even budge from his spot, and Kinsey laughs and waves us away.

Closing the door, I cut off our view and just wait by Enzo for a second as we try to pull ourselves together. I want to support my brother, but I also want to smack him upside the head for moving so quickly. This will complicate things. I don’t think I’d ever known of a pack to just spontaneously claim an omega. It has always been arranged, which is in the law of the Pack Regimes across the nation.

“Wilder is going to kick your ass into next week,” I murmur, walking beside my brother toward the stairs. “I’ll get in the middle though. I’m on your side, man. Kinsey is fucking spectacular.”

Enzo waggles his eyebrows, shaking his hands out. “Thanks, brother. It was totally worth it. Like paradise. Knowing what to expect doesn’t compare to her actually taking my knot. Kinsey is...it’s hard to explain. I know that we’re not supposed to make these decisions with our emotions, but she’s irresistible. I’m in love with her. She is meant for me. For us.”
