Daddy groans deep in his throat. “Looks like the bastard can’t even find his voice to speak. Give me a kiss, sweet girl. I’ll—”

“Don’t you fucking touch her! I’ll kill you! Kinsey belongs to the Gilded Sands Pack. If you even touch her, I’ll take your fucking hands.” Enzo roars the words, his anger like a lash against my very being.

Daddy stiffens beneath me, a deep growl reverberating through his throat. He shoves his hand to my back, knocking me off him. I hit my knees on the ground, my body blooming with pain. Holly jumps to her feet and grabs my hands, pulling me up. Daddy knocks the table forward with a holler, chucking his phone against one of the mirrored walls, shattering it.

I brace for him to come after me.

I brace for him to lift me off my feet and strangle me to death. I never expected such a reaction, but whatever Enzo said triggers him into being a monster.

“Brett, get out of my club. We don’t tolerate violence here.” Madame Samara materializes in front of me and Holly.

He points his finger at her. “But—”

“I said get out!” Madame Samara pulls a gun from a holster, pointing it at the alpha. “You’re banned for a month. Now, leave. All of you.”

Everyone in the club gets to their feet and exits the building without arguing.

Madame Samara looks at me, her head tilted. “Did I just hear that you’re bonded with the Gilded Sands Pack? I was told it was Platinum Shores.”

I tighten my jaw and nod my head. “Yes. Those bastards kidnapped me from Gilded Sands for Platinum Shores not from them.”

A smirk crosses her face, her eyes shining with a glint of something wicked. “Interesting. Go up to your room. Both of you.”

I open my mouth to argue, but she steps forward and points toward the door.

She nudges my shoulder. “I said go.”

Chapter 25

Kinsey

Visitor

“Kinsey, there’ssomeonehereto see you.” Madame Samara stands in the doorway of the club. “Bianca, I want you to head back to the club. You’re not of the Gilded Sands Pack’s concern. The Silversteins have nothing that they can offer me, so you will continue to be one of my Knotty Girls.”

Holly opens and closes her mouth, preparing to argue. I reach out and rest my hand on her knee. There’s no way her brothers would ever leave her behind. She needs to just wait to see what happens.

“I told you,” I say, getting to my feet. “The pack that brought me here played you.”

Madame Samara scowls at me, stepping into the room and making me freeze in place from fear. “Mind your mouth. So you know, the Gilded Sands Pack had no idea that they were bonded to you. It makes this rather interesting. Now, come along. Let’s not keep our guest waiting.” Madame Samara grabs my hand and drags me forward. She looks over her shoulder at Holly. “Get back to work.”

What the actual fuck? Who’s here to see me? What does she mean that the Gilded Sands Pack didn’t know about my bonding with them?

Holly purses her lips and exits the room, peeking at me from over her shoulder. Madame Samara stands beside me in the hallway, staring at the side of my face. But I don’t look at her. I can’t stop thinking about what the hell is going on.

“Kinsey, did you hear me?” Madame Samara touches my chin, forcing me to look at her. I meet her brown eyes and blink a couple times, trying to get myself together. “I wanted to apologize for not asking more specific questions and just assuming anything about your pack. Had I known you were bonded with the Gilded Sands Pack, I would’ve reached out to the king sooner. He will reward me far more than any client here could.”

My muscles tense at her comment. King Winston? She contacted, King Winston? Oh fuck. This isn’t good. He thought I was a beta, and now he’ll realize that I was only posing as one. What if he gets angry, thinking that I was purposefully messing with his sons and kingdom? He could have my head or some shit. I don’t even know what to do. I wish I had a moment to talk to my guys. Even Holly. I don’t know how to fix any of this.

“He’s here?” I ask instead of accepting her apology. Because it’s not really one. She is using this to her advantage. She doesn’t feel bad about anything except the fact that she could’ve had more sooner than now. She could’ve arranged things differently. Now she might have a new enemy in the Platinum Shores Pack, because she thought she was getting me from them.

“Of course, he is. I alerted him immediately of the error of my ally. He was rather concerned and came immediately. And now I must ask you to tell him that I treated you with the utmost care. This kind of alliance can make a huge difference for my club. If you’re a good girl, I’ll make sure that your...friend...is well taken care of.” Things are clicking together for her. She told people we were sisters, but it’s obvious we’re not. But now that she mentions Holly, panic tightens my chest. If the king is here—

An alarm blares, cutting off my thoughts. I jerk away from Madame Samara and cover my ears protectively. The noise deafens me, and I spin around, expecting someone to attack. Madame Samara abandons me, rushing toward the stairs. She doesn’t say anything as she descends, disappearing.

I hesitate for only a second before getting my shit together and running after her. But I don’t plan to chase her. I need to find Holly. Whatever is going on might be our chance to leave. We have to get out of here, especially if her father is nearby. I can’t risk him finding out that she’s alive. I promised my guys that I would care for her, and even if we’re not together right now, I won’t let them down. Holly is as important to them as she is to me. We are family. We are a pack.

I kick off my heels, lifting one up and clutching it to use as a weapon. I don’t know why the alarms go off but usually it means that there is some sort of fight. Alphas like Madame Samara have many enemies. This shit probably involves me, but I don’t want to find out.
