“Brother, I’m coming in,” Wilder says, his voice a rumble through the air. “Did you look at your fucking phone?” The door swings open, and Wilder strides into the room. He peers around, his gaze capturing mine as I hold Enzo.

“We’re fucking getting up now.” Enzo eases away from me and slides off the bed, not bothering to cover up his naked body. “King Winston can fuck off if he thinks we’re dropping everything for him.”

Not that it matters. Wilder keeps his light blue eyes locked on me, drinking in my exposed body, the scent of my desire mingling with his and Enzo’s.

“Sounds like he chucked the phone before seeing the second message.” Desmond appears in the doorway, carrying a tray of food. The scent of syrup and fruit teases me, setting my stomach off. “Platinum Shores sent him a warning. The king wants to know how we plan to handle them.”

Enzo swears under his breath, hopping into his pants. He runs his fingers through his black hair, combing down the strands. “Fuck.”

“Relax. We have this handled.” Arsenio strolls into the room with Holly by his side. “He just wants to test us. It’s not something we won’t pass.”

Setting the tray of food on the table, Desmond motions toward me. Enzo cuts me off, holding a shirt out for me to slide on. He holds up a pair of my yoga pants next, and I brace against him as he helps me pull them up. Desmond sets a couple of plates on the table, choosing to bring breakfast to us after all. Holly remains quiet as she takes a seat, mindlessly taking a bite of her pancakes.

Wilder motions for me to come sit with him, and he cuts off a triangle of the pancake and gives me a bite before taking one for himself. The guys practically shovel their breakfast down while I take slow bites.

The edges of my vision shadow, and I blink a few times. Tingles blossom over my fingers and I rest my back to Wilder.

I grip the table, shaking my head. “I feel—”

Desmond falls out of his chair, startling us, and Holly leans forward on the table, pressing her cheek to the wood. Arsenio gets to his feet and braces his hand on the table.

Wilder swears under his breath. “Shit. We’ve been drugged.”

The world turns black, my whole body turning numb. I don’t know how much time passes, but a few voices stir me awake. A crash echoes through the room, and Wilder hollers in pain.

My mouth opens and closes, but no words come out. I blink my eyes, my vision blurry, but I see a tall man standing over Wilder, pointing a gun to his head.

“That is unnecessary. He will not attack. Isn’t that right, son?” King Winston’s voice draws my attention away from the tall man, but I can’t move. I can’t see where it comes from. “Consider the two omegas as restitution for your trouble. Take them and leave. I’ll handle my pack from here.”

Panic seizes my chest, but I still can’t move. I’m too disoriented, and my vision keeps coming and going along with my consciousness.

“You’re a generous man, your majesty. It was a pleasure meeting with you.” Hands grab under me, lifting me from the floor.

My heart breaks, my whole body screaming with anguish as the world moves around me.

I can’t believe this is happening now. We should’ve seen this coming, but my guys never expected it to happen under our roof. The king set us up. He drugged us. And now...he’s tearing my life apart.

He’s destroying everything.

“I hope you will consider my other offer.” King Winston comes into view, his silhouette a dark blur against the light behind him filtering in through the window.

“I’ve already considered it.” The gruff voice stirs even more fear inside me. I flutter my eyelashes as I watch the strange man aim a gun. “The answer is no.”

He pulls the trigger, the loud pop ringing in my ears.

King Winston falls to his knees.

The man carries me away.
