I shake my head as I pour myself a cup of coffee and head to the fridge for some cream. “It’s not going to be easy. He managed to best us already. I’d like to know how he did that exactly. It was like he knew we were coming.”

Riella strolls to the counter and rests her palms down. She takes the coffee from my hand, her silent pleas irresistible. “Actually, that’s a good question. No one knew what our plan was outside of us. It’s impossible for him to have predicted it. Storm is our prophet. The world doesn’t get more than that.”

I snatch my coffee back and gulp. “I suspect one of you assholes let it slip.”

Storm looks at his brother before adding, “You’re right. Who the fuck did you tell?”

River’s demeanor stiffens at Storm’s anger. “Don’t act like I betrayed you. It’s not like it was a secret. I only mentioned it to a few hunters that we were going after him.”

Storm punches River in the shoulder. “Well, fuck. Either someone was spouting off their big mouth or we just found out there’s a spy in the organization.”

Riella puffs out her bottom lip with concern in her eyes. “Oh, no.”

Oh-fucking-no is right. I frown, my expression matching hers. “This is a huge problem.”

River throws his bottle of water across the room, and it smacks into the wall. “You better not blame me for this. You know we always tell the local hunters what’s up, so they can prepare for the aftermath.”

“Calm down. I’m not saying that at all. Just that we need to be more careful. We can’t say anything outside the four of us.” I plop my ass on the stool at the bar, smiling at River as he stares at me with a sneer. I bet he didn’t expect me to say as much, preferring to be provoked. Now he can’t throw a tantrum like he truly wants.

Storm walks over to his enraged brother and smacks him on the back of the head. “He’s right. We need to be more careful. Now, how and when did you talk to someone?”

River runs his hands down his face. “A few hours before we left. I went to Howl at the Moon for a quick drink. I needed to get away from here. From them.” He glowers in my direction.

Storm nods. “Okay. Then what? Who did you talk to?”

Riella wrinkles her brows. “Wait...Howl at the Moon?”

River scratches his forehead, his hardened features softening. “Yeah. It’s a hunter’s bar. I went for a beer and some information. I was talking to Carey and his gang. But I’m sure it wasn’t him. The place was packed. It could have been anyone.”

I bite the inside of my cheek, ensuring I don’t ask him how he can be so sure. It’s not worth it. If he’s wrong, I’ll rub that shit in later. “Well, we better figure out who and fast. I could always go and get some info out of them.” I waggle my eyebrows suggestively.

Storm shakes his head. “You’d never make it out alive. But you’re right. We need to find the spy and fast. Maybe they can lead us to another demonic source or Dagan.”

“We need a plan. And Waterfall here is going to figure it out. Because we need to get Dagan taken care of sooner than later.”

I can’t believe our good luck.

This is just what we needed.

Hopefully, we can end this for all of humanity’s sake.

Riella

“Remembertheplan.Ifthey don’t try to send Riella to Hell, then they have other plans.” River rubs his hands together, bouncing on his feet.

“This is the worst fucking plan of existence, brother.” Storm squeezes my side, remaining ultra-close, protective.

Damien stands on my other side, rubbing his thumb over my pinky finger. I give in to his silent plea for my affection and lace my fingers through his. I know they both crave my affection, and I want to give it to them.

“Do you have something better in mind? We can’t use Damien. It has to be her.” River adjusts his belt, adding an extra blessed dagger to his already hefty collection.

I bump my hip to Storm’s before he can argue with his brother. “This plan is perfect. I can handle myself. If the hunters try to hurt me, I will give them a taste of the hell they try to inflict. But don’t worry, I won’t burn them. Just their clothes.”

The looks the three of them give me sends a rush of adrenaline through my body. None of them think my threat is as funny as I do, and I know it’s because they prefer I not see anyone in the nude, they don’t realize that I’m not interested in some strange hunters. I won’t hurt them either.
