Page 73 of Desiring Them

“You’re too used to the sounds that come out of the recording studio, mate,” Jeremy countered, clapping Cruz on the shoulder. “Those and the live sound, of course. No home entertainment system is going to be up to scratch in comparison.”

Cruz narrowed his dark eyes. “Are you implying I’m spoiled?”

“Damn right, you’re spoiled.” Jeremy softened the comment with a chuckle. “Folks, allow me to introduce my cousin, Cruz. He was born with a golden spoon up his ass.”

“One that I have since removed,” he defended.

“It’ll never be gone completely, big brother, no matter how much you wish it to be,” Augustus said around a moan.

“At least I don’t suck up to Mummy and Daddy,” Cruz replied with a snarl.

Ruben and I glanced at each other and shrugged. It seemed as though we were the odd ones out here. Everyone else seemed to know each other.

Augustus caught on to our body language and extracted himself from the random guy. He stepped between us and draped his arms over our shoulders as he said, “I’m so glad you could both make it.”

“So, what happens now?” Ruben asked.

“You get a drink, maybe some nibblies, you relax and enjoy yourself in whatever way you want.” Augustus winked. “There are only two rules for my parties. No means no, and always use protection. So have at it.”

I spotted the excitement lighting up Ruben’s eyes, but it was dampened with hesitation. “Ruben, it’s okay, babe. You’ve given me permission, and I give you permission to have the freedom to follow your—” I was going to say heart, but I wasn’t sure if that was the proper organ in this situation.”

“For the love of Christ, please don’t say ‘heart.’” Augustus groaned.

“Shut up,” I said as I elbowed him in the side.

The group began to disperse, and I inwardly started to panic. I had never been to a sex party before. I didn’t know how to straight out ask someone for sex. Was I supposed to be blunt or more subtle? Was it like hooking up at a bar or more like partaking in casual conversation that could possibly lead to other things? Was I supposed to expect the kind of chemistry I had with Ruben, Augustus, Jeremy, and Riva? Should we jump straight in or wait until later?

So many questions spun around in my head and threatened to overwhelm me.I drew in a deep breath and held it a second before releasing it slowly. I repeated the process several times, and everything in my body slowed.

My questions were answered soon after I began to wander.

Ruben was blushing red as a woman wearing a fierce blonde ponytail flirted with him, two chicks were making out on a loveseat, and when a guy asked to join them, they politely turned him down. Others were drinking, eating, and dancing to the music. Laughing and talking were happening as well. It truly was like any other party, only with more open sex.

I plucked a flute of champagne from a platter being carried by a bare-breasted woman and moved to the food table. There, I tasted a few things and sipped my drink.Fuck it.I needed more courage than one sip could provide. I needed to loosen up, so I threw back the rest of the champagne and ditched the glass to pick up another.

Arms wrapped around my waist, and a mouth pressed to my ear. “Go easy on the alcohol, hotness. I don’t want you feeling ill before I’ve had my fill of you.”

I gasped when Augustus nibbled my earlobe. As usual, my body craved him immediately. “What if I want to make you wait?”

“Then I’ll watch. So be it.”

I glanced across at Ruben and the woman. A stab of jealousy hit my gut when I saw them kissing. It wasn’t at the idea that he was kissing a stranger. I couldn’t care less. But I so desperately wanted to play as well. I had so much pent-up sexual energy today, and I blamed Jeremy for most of it.

“Who do you want to fuck, hmm? Who do you choose?”

It was a difficult decision. Ruben shot me a guilty look as I watched the woman kissing his jawline. I nodded at him encouragingly to continue. Then my eyes moved to Jeremy and Cruz, who were having an animated discussion about something or other, while Riva stood beside them looking bored.

I led Augustus across to them and slid my arm around her slender body. “You okay, hun?”

Riva rolled her eyes. “These two won’t stop talking business, and I am bored shitless.”

“What kind of business?” I eyed off the two men.

Jeremy clearly heard me. “I guess I should have told you that Cruz is the lead singer of Mad Lurchers. I was telling him about how you want them to play at your gala, Sienna.”

My eyes lit up. “Would you?”

“That depends.”
