Page 91 of Desiring Them

It was so obvious he was in love with her in the same way I was with Ruben and Augustus. But now I was feeling the same about these two. As I watched them, I felt a little left out. So, I picked up my plate of pancakes with the intention of leaving them be.

That was when Jeremy caught hold of me. “Where are you going?”

I began to shake, so I set the plate down again. I didn’t answer him because I couldn’t seem to find my voice.

Jeremy pulled me into a kiss next, and it was as good as when we’d made out in the stairwell of our apartment building. It was as passionate as the one he’d given Riva, and my heart pounded in my chest.

He broke the kiss off and closed his eyes for a moment. “D’ya know what it feels like to be falling in love with two people at once?”

“Yes,” Riva murmured.

I crinkled up my nose. “Try four people at once with a possible fifth in the running.”

“I think it’s beautiful that your heart can be so open, Sienna,” Riva said.

“So, you don’t think it’s bad?”

Jeremy shook his head. “Not at all, as long as we’re included. Because you know that’s what’s happening here, Sienna. We’re both falling in love with you. Riva gushes about you, and I never stop her or get jealous because I happen to agree with everything she says. Me?” He tapped his chest. “Well, let’s just say I’m dying to show you both the man I am outside of sex. Don’t take lightly the fact that I want to let you both get to know me intimately. Few people earn the privilege.”

I sighed with contentment. “Well then, let’s begin this celibate week with our quickly cooling pancakes, shall we?”

“I like that idea.” Riva picked up two plates while I collected mine, and Jeremy brought the syrups and cutlery.

Together, we all enjoyed a pleasant breakfast with awesome conversation.

After reheating the leftover pancakes, I dared to interrupt Augustus’ work and take him his fair share of breakfast. I hoped to find him in a better mood, and I knew I owed him an apology.

I’d never been inside Augustus’ private home office before. It was decked out in dark, solid timber, and an oak desk littered with paperwork, a laptop, and other writing materials sat on a rug in the middle of the timber floor. Of all the rooms in the house, this was the only one that wasn’t ultra-modern.

Augustus was sitting in a leather, wheeled office chair, scratching his head before his fingers danced over the keyboard of his top-of-the-line laptop.

“Knock, knock. I thought you might like some pancakes for breakfast.” I sashayed over to his desk and presented him with the food.

Augustus turned his line of sight away from the computer screen. After a moment, he relented. “Go on, then.”

As soon as he cleared a space, I set the plate in front of him and took a seat in a classic Chesterfield armchair which was probably vintage. “Aug, I’m sorry about what happened last night. I should have been more considerate of the fact that you and Jeremy would’ve been wondering where we got to.”

“Yes, you should have.”

“We got caught up.”

His gaze penetrated mine. “In each other, I gather?”

I sat up straight. “Yeah.”

Augustus chewed in silence.

I pressed on with the question I was dying to ask him. “Are you okay with that?”

“Yes. It’s probably for the best.”

I sighed. “Aug, I’m not choosing them over you.”

“I don’t think that, Sienna.” He gave me his full focus. “We’re different kind of people, aren’t we? We’re capable of things most other people aren’t. We can open our hearts to multiple lovers without cheapening what we already share with someone else. You and I definitely have something fucking unbelievable going on.”

“I feel like there’s abuton its way.”

Augustus said with a single nod, “Butgiven the tenacity of the paparazzi toward you right now, I feel you could probably benefit from keeping your distance from me for a while.”
