Excel at massage.

Run a race with Clementine???

She read through the list again and drew a sigh. Hobbs had been right. Everything was vague, soft and light. There was no commitment here. Leave it to Tabitha to have created a timid Badass List. Oh, the irony.

She flipped the page. It was one thing to tell Auntie El that she was “finding herself” in lieu of hooking up with a fabulous catch like Thaddeus. It was another to actually put in the work. Time to start over. Time to do what Hobbs had suggested. This time, her goals needed to be bold. Specific. Achievable. Tabitha chewed on the tip of her pen a moment before writing.

Help Auntie El.

Choose a book at Delaney’s shop next week and educate self on motorcycles.

Massage Hannah and take detailed SOAP notes.

Massage Candy 2x/week, noting changes, advancements.

Use Rx weights at gym for a workout within the next week (when safe).

Ride a motorcycle on a warm day.

Tabitha put empty checkboxes next to each goal and smoothed the page with her palm. These were things that she could start on right away and make clear progress. The only goal that was still vague was the one about Auntie El. Tabitha didn’t know, as of now, how to make it more specific. The goal was staying on the list, anyway.

“Nine-letter word forunflinching.” Auntie El brushed bread crumbs from the front of her housecoat and peered over the rims of her glasses. “Starts withD.”

Tabitha clicked her pen closed and closed her eyes. After a moment, she rose to go finish what she’d started in the kitchen.“Dauntless,”she said. “The word you’re looking for isdauntless.”
