“That works,” Knox agreed. He handed Arabella over to Trinity and made a face. “That’s just rude,” he grumbled. Ace could smell his daughter’s dirty diaper and Trinity giggled.

“It’s not rude,” she said. “It’s natural, isn’t that right, baby girl?” Trinity asked. “I’ll run to the bathroom and change her.”

“You shouldn’t change her diaper in your dress,” Ace said. “I’ll run her to the men’s room and change her diaper.”

“They don’t have changing stations in the men’s room here,” Trinity said.

“How about I go with you and I can change her diaper,” Beck offered.

“I think that’s going above and beyond your maid of honor duties, Beck.” Trinity took the diaper bag from Ace.

“I don’t mind, really. I have a nephew that I babysit all the time. He’s about Bella’s age, so I’m used to it,” Beck said.

“All right,” Trinity said. “We’ll be right back. If they call us to the courtroom, tell them that we’re on our way.”

Ace waited until Trinity and Beck were out of earshot before turning on Knox. “I thought you were going to stop hiring women that you’re attracted to, Knox,” Ace said.

“Shit, Ace,” Knox said. “Beck isn’t my type.”

“Beck is most certainly your type, Knox,” Ace argued. “She’s one of the only friends that Trinity has, man. You can’t fuck this up. I won’t let you fire Beck when she doesn’t meet one of your ridiculous demands. She will be working from nine to five for you—not four in the morning or whenever your crazy whims to work occur. You need to expect things from your assistant that aren’t unrealistic needs.”

“I do not have unrealistic needs,” Knox insisted. “But, I will take your protest of my hiring Beck to heart and won’t do anything to hurt your soon to be bride. You have my word,” Knox promised.

“Thanks for that, man,” he said.

“Mr. Wild and Ms. Gaines, Judge Grimes will see you now,” the clerk said.

“My fiancée is—”

“Right here,” Trinity shouted. “We’re right here.” She handed Arabella to Ace and he took the diaper bag from her.

“Ready to get married?” he asked.

Trinity smiled up at him and nodded. “I am,” she said. Trinity took his hand and the three of them walked down the makeshift aisle to the judge who sat in the front of the courtroom. He was about to have everything he ever wanted—his little girl in his arms and his best girl by his side. Marrying Trinity was a part of the game that he’d never thought he’d win, yet here he was, playing a winning hand. He had gambled and won, making him the luckiest bastard on the planet.

The End
