Kai stopped dead in the middle of the parking lot, and he practically knocked her over, running into the back of her. “What the hell, honey?” he asked.
“Gabe,” she whispered.
“You know, I was sitting in that bar, getting mean looks from the other guys, and I thought that you might be taking a bit longer than the promised few minutes. So, I went back to the kitchen, where you both disappeared into, and found no one back there. I followed my instincts and used the back door to find you both had escaped out to that truck over there,” Gabe said, nodding to Taz’s truck.
“You saw us?” Kai asked.
“The whole disgusting show, honey,” Gabe spat. Taz wanted to tear the asshole apart for calling her honey or saying what they did was disgusting, but he didn’t want to overstep. Kai could handle herself, and he needed to give her the chance to do that.
“It wasn’t disgusting, and I’m not your honey,” she hissed. “You shouldn’t have watched.”
The guy pointed his finger at Kai and Taz wanted to tear it from his fucking hand. “You don’t get to turn this around on me,” he said. “You were the one having sex with that caveman while on a date with me. What kind of woman does that make you, Kai?” Taz took a menacing step in the asshole’s direction and Kai put her hand across his chest, stopping him.
“What kind of man has a threesome with two of his college classmates just hours before meeting up with another woman for a dinner date?” she asked. Looks like your little plan worked though, and you got what you wanted.” Gabe shook his head at her and turned to leave, turning back once more. “Dinner is on you tonight, sweetheart,” he said. He turned and walked over to his car, not giving Kai the chance to say another word.
