He pointed at her and that only pissed her off more. “You can’t go telling anyone that,” he insisted. “You promised.”

“I never promised not to tell anyone about where you studied cooking, Taz,” she sassed. “How about you be honest with me, about how you feel about me, and I’ll keep your little secret?” she asked.

“You can’t be serious,” he shouted at her. “You’re basically blackmailing me. You do know that, right?” She was well aware of what she was doing when it came to Taz. She wanted to hear him say that he wanted her. It was all she wanted since the first night that she met him, and he kept sneaking peeks at her. She knew how he felt, she just wanted to hear him say it.

“You’re not playing fair,” he whispered. He was standing so close to her; she could feel his warm breath on her face. Taz put the knife down on the cutting board and quickly washed his hands.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

“I’m leaving,” he insisted. “I don’t have to stand here and listen to you make threats. If you want to tell the guys about me, have at it, but you won’t force me to tell you that I want you, Kai. It doesn’t matter that I do, I won’t act on how I feel, so what’s the point?”

“The point is, you’ll be honest with me, for the first time since we met, and I deserve at least that from you, Taz,” she insisted. The big guy closed his eyes and huffed out his breath. God, he was beautiful with his red hair and beard. He was the most stunning man that she’d ever seen in her life, and that was saying a lot with all of the hot guys who hung around the club.

“It’s okay, Taz,” she whispered, “I want you too.” His blue eyes flew open, and she wasn’t sure if she had said the right thing or not. He looked a cross between turned on and pissed—and Kai wasn’t sure what her next move should be. The only thing that Kai was sure of was, that if he walked out on her now, they’d both regret it.
