With a muttered curse, he said, “Fine. I’ll do it. But I don’t want to talk to this person, I don’t want to have to give any direction or anything. You just tell them to come in, do the massage, and go. That’s it, Parks. I’m serious.”

“Yay!” She jumped up and down happily before resuming her trek back to her shop.

He followed her inside and had to admit that he was impressed. The place was stylish and tastefully decorated. There was soft music playing and even though he’d never admit it, it was oddly relaxing.

Placing the box down on what he assumed was the receptionist's desk, he stared defiantly at his cousin. “Okay, let’s get this over with.”

“You can be as grouchy as you want, but by the time you’re done, you’re going to be like a total wet noodle with no aches or pains. Trust me.”

“Why would I want to be a wet noodle? What the hell does that even mean?”

“It means you’ll stop being such an uptight pain in the ass,” she snapped before composing herself and smiling sweetly. “Now, I’ll lead you back to a treatment room, you’ll get undressed and…”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa…I am not getting naked and letting this stranger do…whatever. Forget it. You didn’t mention getting naked, Parker!”

With a weary sigh, she said, “Fine. Don’t get naked. Strip down to your briefs…”

“Boxers.”

“Whatever! Jeez! Just strip down to your boxers, lie face down on the bed under the blankets, and try really hard to just…not be like…” Her hands waved around in front of him. “This.”

“Fine. But remember, no talking and…”

“She has to introduce herself, otherwise it would be super weird.” Pausing, she took in his stern look and sighed. “Fine. She’ll just introduce herself because that’s part of the treatment—and good manners—and you don’t have to say a word. Deal?”

There was no way he was going to continue to argue. If a one-hour massage meant she would keep her mouth shut about him being home, then he’d do it.

But he wasn’t going to enjoy it.

Five minutes later, he was in a dimly-lit room with some sort of weird acoustic music playing, along with some sounds of the ocean. He’d stripped down to his boxer briefs and was on the table with his face in some strange circle pillow.

There is no way I’m going to relax…

Taking a deep breath, he let it out slowly and tried to think of something that would help him not be quite so tense. No need to make the therapist work even harder.

“Just think good thoughts,” he murmured and instantly Savannah’s face came to mind. Yeah, he was regretting his decision about not getting her number more than he should have. All logic be damned.

If this were just about scratching an itch and getting laid, Jackson knew he wouldn’t have had a problem going out and doing just that. But after hanging out with Savannah last night, he wasn’t thinking about sex—much. Not that he’d be opposed to it, but he genuinely liked her and wanted to get to know her. Maybe after this stupid massage, he’d head over to Donovan’s and see if Jamie was around. Even though Savannah said last night was her first time there, maybe Jamie had seen her before.

Ugh…now I feel creepy…

He heard the door to the room softly open and forced himself to simply breathe and try to relax.

“Is the temperature in the room okay?” she asked quietly and Jackson wanted to groan because he had specifically asked not to talk. For the next hour, he was going to keep score and everything she did that he didn’t like, he was going to deduct points. And when he was done and went out to talk to Parker, he’d give his final grade.

“It’s fine,” he muttered.

“Excellent.” Her voice was low and soothing and a little husky.

She shifted the blankets a little and he automatically tensed for a second before reminding himself to just go with it and it would be over soon enough.

“I’m Savannah and if there’s anything you don’t like or if the pressure isn’t right, please don’t hesitate to let me know.”

Savannah?!

Jackson was about to lift his head when she pulled the blanket down and tucked it into the waistband of his boxers.

What the…? That’s a little inappropriate, isn’t it?
