Page 52 of His Baby Agenda

He’d thought he’d come back to her for answers and to care for his son, but as he pulled her into his arms, he knew he’d come back to her for himself. Because he wanted to feel like the man he’d once been. A man who wasn’t jaded by the life he’d lived.

But that man was gone.

And the only thing that came from holding on to Gabi would be to bring her down with him.

And he wasn’t going to do that.

“King?” she asked in a sleepy voice.

“Yeah, baby?”

“Are you okay?” she asked.

No.

He was pretty sure he was never going to be okay again, but right now he didn’t want to think about that. Instead he wanted to make love to Gabi one more time. To use a little bit of the California sunshine she’d brought into his life to illuminate the dark parts of his soul. Just one more time.

He kissed her. He wasn’t shy about it, thrusting his tongue over her lips and teeth and then deep into her mouth. Her tongue slid against his and her arms came up to wrap around his shoulders.

He looked down into her eyes as he kissed her. Their gazes met, and he realized she could read his intent.

She knew this was goodbye.

Tearing her mouth from his she started to speak, but he put his finger over her lips.

“No more talking tonight.”

She nodded, her hands caressing his chest. Tracing over the tattoo of Conner’s name. She leaned forward and kissed it. Traced the line of hair on his chest down past his belly button. She ran her finger around it and then pushed it into his belly button before going lower.

Wrapping her hand around his erection, she stroked him. He hardened even more as he reached for her breasts, cupped them and then rubbed his thumbs over her nipples.

She looked up at him again and he closed his eyes against the questions in hers. He rose up to his knees and tugged her up on her knees, as well. He turned her around so that her back was toward him and wrapped his arms around her. Held her pressed to him, burying his face in her neck as he rubbed his hands over her torso.

His erection nestled against her buttocks and she undulated against him as he bit the nape of her neck. He felt her shiver in his arms as he reached between her legs and parted her intimate flesh.

He rubbed his finger over her clit in that swirling motion he knew she liked. Then he whispered dark, sexual words in her ear and heard her breath quicken. He leaned her forward, bracing her hands on the headboard as he pulled back, kissing his way down her back.

He took his time, biting gently as he moved down her spine. He kissed the small indentation right above her butt and then cupped the cheeks of her ass. He squeezed them and heard her moan in response.

Her legs parted and she looked back over her shoulder at him.

Her hair was wild and her eyes no longer held questions. Now he saw need and fire and demands there.

“Take me,” she said.

Her words were like a hot glove brushing over his body. His blood felt heavier in his veins and his heartbeat pounded loudly in his ears.

He put his hands on her hips and shifted until he felt the opening of her body with the tip of his erection. He drew his hips back and slowly drove them forward until he was fully embedded in her.

He stayed there for a moment, reaching around to pluck at her nipples until she thrust her hips back against his, and then he slowly drew back before slamming forward again to fill her completely.

She arched her back and he continued thrusting into her until he felt that shiver of sensation down his spine and knew he was going to come.

He reached between her legs and flicked his finger over her. He drove harder and deeper into her until she arched frantically against him, her body tightening around his and driving him to his own climax. Her body continued to squeeze his, milking him of everything he had to give.

He wrapped his arm around her waist and put his hand between hers on the headboard to support himself as his breathing slowed. He rested his head in the middle of her back between her shoulder blades. He kissed her gently and then pulled her down onto the bed into his arms. He cradled her to him and rubbed his hand up and down her back until she drifted off to sleep.

He couldn’t find sleep. Instead all he found were images of a future where he did the selfish thing and kept Gabi until her life slowly became sullied by his. He knew he had to let her go. And after all the things he’d walked away from, all the people he’d told himself he could live without, all the people who didn’t matter, he realized she did. Walking away from her was the one thing he wasn’t sure he was strong enough to do.
