But no one stood between her and her snickerdoodles.

Besides, maybe she wanted to push him a little. All this talk of punishments and spankings. She wanted to see if he was for real.

So she grabbed a snickerdoodle and stuffed it in her mouth, staring up at him with a grin as she chewed.

“Oh, girl,” he said quietly. “You are in such trouble. Hope you enjoy that cookie, because your ass is going to pay for it later.”

Ooh. She couldn’t wait.

“Maeve needs to rest,” Gray said abruptly.

Did she? She wasn’t feeling at all tired anymore. And she’d had a nap today.

“I’m fine.”

“No, you’re just out of the hospital. You should be in bed. We’ll be leaving tomorrow for Montana. I’ll need to book some plane tickets.”

“What?” Maeve gasped, then started choking on her mouthful. Crap! She gasped for air, but that only seemed to make things worse as the cookie became more firmly entrenched in her throat. Tears streamed down her cheeks as Gray whacked her back.

He put a hand under her mouth. “Spit it out, girl. Right now.”

She managed to choke everything up, giving a groan of embarrassment as it landed in his hand.

So gross.

Really, really not attractive, Maeve.

“Baby, you all right?” Gray asked in a low, soft voice.

Immy handed him a few tissues so he could clean his hands. He did it hastily, then rubbed her back, staring down at her in worry.

“Are you all right? Can you breathe okay?”

She nodded.

Immy had rushed off and she returned with a bottle of water, which she handed to her. Gray took hold of it, then tipped her back against his arm and held the bottle to her lips. She opened her mouth automatically, letting him put the nozzle to her mouth.

It wasn’t until he sat her back up and she saw everyone staring at them in surprise, that she realized that, except for the fact it wasn’t the right type of bottle, he’d basically given her a bottle in the same way he would a baby.

Ahh. Whoops.

Then again, if anyone should understand it was these guys. Cat was a Little. Although when she regressed, she was close to four or five. Maeve had always thought she was the same.

But maybe she wasn’t.

And that was okay. She didn’t have to be the same as Cat.

“Fuck, that’s it. No more cookies for you.”

The shock of Gray’s words took her out of her thoughts and she gaped up at him.

“Dude, don’t mess with Maeve’s snickerdoodles,” Jenner told him.

“Uh-uh, yeah, not happening. That is the line.”

Gray raised his eyebrows. “Are you serious? That’s the line?”

“Yep.”
