“I hate extras,” she muttered.

“What was that, girl?” Gray asked from where he sat on the sofa. She liked having him around. Only problem was, the more he was around, the more spankings she seemed to earn.

“Just saying I don’t like extras, Daddy. Unless we’re talking about extra snickerdoodles, then I am all about extras. Unfortunately, it’s never about extra snickerdoodles. I’m lucky if I get one snickerdoodle.” She sighed forlornly.

“Maybe if you’re a good girl today, tomorrow I’ll ask Maria to make you some snickerdoodles.”

She looked up with a big smile. “Really, Daddy?”

“Really. But you can only have one at a time. Do you need to go potty, little girl?”

She glared at him. “Daddy, we are not calling it a potty. It’s a toilet!”

“When you’re a big girl, it is. Right now, you’re my Little girl. Do you?”

“No.”

“Are you sure? You’re shifting around like you do.” He was back to insisting on helping her go to the bathroom now that her period was over. He really could be a control freak.

And she was starting to realize that the only times he took a step back was when he thought he was being so overbearing that she might object.

Honestly, she was surprised he realized that. And she wouldn’t be shocked if he started pushing those lines.

Which she didn’t exactly object to.

“I’m shifting around because you roasted my butt like a marshmallow over a campfire.”

“And did you deserve it?”

She sighed. Why did he have to be all logical? “Yes, Daddy. Look, Daddy! I made this for you!” Maeve got up and walked over to where he sat. She held up the pompom keychain she’d been working on for most of the morning.

Gray glanced up, his gaze softening as he took her in. He’d dressed her this morning in one of her favorite outfits. She was wearing her thick panties, with a pair of ruffled bloomers over them, a short skirt with suspenders and a purple T-shirt with a puppy dog face on the front. Gray had done her hair up into two pigtails with gold and purple velvet ribbons.

She was freaking adorable. If she did say so herself.

“What’s that you have there?” he asked in a soft voice.

She loved that voice. He only ever used it with her. And it made her feel loved and cared for.

“A pompom keychain for you, Daddy! For your keys.” She held up the blue and green pompom. “I was going to make it in purple and gold, but I didn’t want you to get teased by your friends.”

“Teased by my friends? Right. This is . . . this is very cute, little girl.”

She beamed at him. “So, you’ll use it?”

“I wouldn’t dare not to.” He held it in his hands, studying it. “You did such a good job.”

“Dahlia and I are thinking of adding pompoms to some of the dog outfits I make. And she’s practicing knitting clothes for dogs. Plus, she’s really good at sewing as well. You should see what she does with the stuffies she rescues. We’re going to join forces. It’s going to be great.”

He eyed her, then reaching out, drew her close to kiss her forehead. “Do you like it here, baby?”

“I like being wherever you are, Daddy. I’m going to set up the doggy day spa you got me. You want to play?”

He took hold of her hips, pulling her closer, between his long legs. “You dodged my question about whether you like it here or not.”

“I did not!”

He gave her a stern look. “Do not lie to me, girl.”
