He looked up from the book he was reading and tried to scowl, but a smile edged its way out. “That might be weird considering you just saw me naked and now you’re wearing my robe.”

I put my face in my hands to hide the fact it was surely magenta. “Noooo, you’re not supposed to bring it up.” I finally looked up at him. “I can’t believe you brought it up.” He glanced at his lap and back at me, fully grinning now. I held out my hand. “No penis jokes, do you hear me?”

He put his book down, laughing. “It’ll be hard.”

Despite the fact I was dying inside I snickered, then laughed. “That’s it, no more.”

“I promise that’s it. Just sit down and relax until the dryer’s done.”

The couch was almost as big as the entire room, I didn’t have to sit anywhere near him. The smart thing to do would be to go back to the kitchen. I wasn’t feeling smart, and I wasn’t thinking about my jump. I’m not going to lie, I was thinking about his amazing body and his friendly, open smile, which was so much better than his grumpy scowl. Except now that I’d decided to sit on the couch with him, how did I find a reason to sit close to him when the damn couch was nearly the size of the room?

I saw my unfinished wine glass still on the coffee table across from where he sat and came around to lean over and take it. “I guess I’ll finish this,” I said, plopping down next to him, so close I could feel the warmth radiating off his skin. I scooted a little closer and eyed the blanket he’d draped over his shoulders. “Can I have some of that blanket?”

The intense look he gave me made me shiver far more than my wet hair in the chilly cabin. He held out his arm with the blanket, a look of invitation in his eyes. I was more than ready to accept.
