My mind kept racing over what I was going to do.

I got to the cashier and started to load my things onto the little belt, so I could get my items scanned. When I turned to my left, I saw Marcus also paying for his things at the register. He looked up and smirked at me, giving me a flirtatious wink, so I pulled the finger.

My cashier let out a little laugh, as she scanned my things. “Do you two know each other?”

I nodded. “Unfortunately, he is a pain in my ass.”

“He also happens to be one of the hottest guys in town but also so unattainable. Marcus swore off men after Sarah. I’m pretty sure he has been single these past four years, but then again, I could be wrong.”

My eyebrows creased. “Sarah?”

The cashier’s eyes widened. “Forget I said anything.”

She quickly finished with my groceries, and I paid her.

As I exited the store, my mind was still stuck on my issue. I crossed the parking lot to where my Range Rover was parked. Marcus was parked a few spots down, and he was also making his way over to his car.

Then a light bulb went off. Maybe I was crazy for even thinking of such a stupid plan, but I had no better options.

I ran over to Marcus before he got into his car.

“Anderson,” I called which caused him to pause.

“Yes, stink bug?” He smiled.

“I know this is going to sound crazy, but I am all out of options, and you are kind of my only hope at this point.”

“What do you need, Maddison?”

“I need you to marry me.”

The smile dropped from his face, and he looked at me like I had just gone mad. I probably had.
