“You want to start a business in Riverroad?”

I nodded.

“Oh, okay. So, you aren’t moving back to New York?”

“I never said that, but I am open to starting something here.” I was lying right through my teeth. “What are you doing here?”

She waved a folder in the air. “I need to give Jade some documents that Ethan signed.”

Oh yes, Lily’s soon-to-be sister-in-law. “She works here?”

“Yep.” She pooped the p at the end.

“That’s great,” my voice squeaked at the end.What the hell?! Why am I acting like this? I needed to get a grip on my emotions.“Anyway, I got to rush. Have a zoom meeting in a few hours and got to prepare.”

I didn’t wait for her to say anything. I just bolted and headed out of the building. It was only when I was outside that I let go of the breath I had been holding in.

“Now all I need to do is find a husband,” I said to myself, as I headed to the car.
