“Because I’m not corny. Besides, you hate that kind of stuff. You are a moresmack you on the ass and call you minekind of girl.”

“I don’t know whether to be offended or flattered.”

“Maybe both,” Lily chimed in. “At least you got a nice proposal.”

“Did I though?” She thought it over. “Remember Christmas dinner? You hated my guts. Remember? And you ran out like a bat out of hell. Practically stole my moment.”

“I just wanted attention.” She waved her off. “This one keeps asking me in the most random ways. Give me flare and glitter, E. Wow me.”

“I will wow you one day. Just you wait.”

“Hurry up. My eggs are frying, and Belle wants a sibling, but I can’t pop out another baby without having a new name,” Lily countered.

I watched everyone, amused. I had come back to Riverroad knowing almost no one . Even though I knew the majority of these people, I hadn't been friends with anyone in town. I had come here with a broken heart and lost soul, and now I felt like I belonged.

I had met the love of my life, and now I was about to begin a new and even more exciting chapter. One that included Danny tied to me in every humanly way possible.

“Well, well, well.” His voice was like ice on my back. I had only heard it once in that joke of an interview he did. I likened his voice to nails on a chalkboard. It left a bitter taste in my mouth. “Look what we have here.”

All of our heads snapped behind me where Arthur stood with a look of fury in his eyes.

“If it isn’t little miss Daniella.”

My fists balled, already itching to be let loose.

I knew fate would play into my hands. I was going to beat this man up.
