She smiled. “What do you think?” Leaning forward, Jordan licked his nipple and blew it dry, then traced his lower lip with her tongue and kissed her way over to his ear lobe. His groan made her feel sexy and desirable, which turned her on even more. Jordan loved his strength and how his stomach muscles rippled when she ran her fingers along the ridges of his six-pack. Apparently, she had no self-control when it came to him, nor did she want any. Giving herself entirely to the desire pulsing through her, she inched her way down his body until she could take him in her hand.

Travis growled and came off the ground, brushing her hand away and flipping her beneath him. She started to object, but he silenced her with a careful kiss. “Maybe next time, when you’re not all beat up. I get to make you feel good today.”

“But—”

The air left her lungs, and Jordan forgot what she’d wanted to say when his mouth latched onto her breast, and he suckled, his tongue flicking her sensitive bud repeatedly. She writhed beneath him, and when she thought he would drive her crazy with pleasure, he released her and began again with her other breast.

“Oh God, Travis! Please...I can’t...” Jordan fisted the sleeping bag as waves of sensations broke over her.

“You’re so beautiful, Jordan,” he whispered as he kissed and licked his way lower, unrepentantly admiring her body. His hand slipped inside her panties, his thumb rolling over her sex as fingers explored her slickness and then plunged inside.

“Travis!” His name escaped on a groan as she pressed against his hand.

“I want to show you how good we can be together. I haven’t stopped thinking about doing this since I first saw you.” His warm tone sent shivers ricocheting through her body. Working his thigh between her legs, he opened her wider and rocked the rigid proof of his desire against her hip. The orgasm roiling beneath his touch moved relentlessly closer.

“Keep your eyes open, baby. I want to watch you fall, and I promise I’ll catch you.” His confident gaze held hers as the pressure within reached agonizing heights she could no longer contain. Jordan came apart in his hands, crying out his name, never doubting for an instant that this man would always catch her and put her back together. She gave her body—her trust—her heart to him.

Travis pulled every last tremor from her orgasm, holding her until she stopped trembling. Then, he shifted onto his back, pulling her with him until her head rested on his shoulder and their legs tangled together. He wrapped her in his arms and kissed her with so much tenderness that tears welled in her eyes.

When she could breathe again, Travis pressed his lips to her forehead. “I’ll never get tired of watching you come in my arms. It’s the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen.”

Jordan sighed and cuddled closer. “That was amazing, but what about you?”

His sexy grin appeared. “Next time, I’m all yours.”

Jordan didn’t know what to say, so she kissed his jaw and lay in silent contentment until Travis raised on one elbow and met her gaze. “Will you make me a promise, Jordan?”

“That there will be a next time?”

“Everyone’s a comedian.” He stroked his hand across her stomach, sending shivers from head to toe. “I’m serious.”

“Strange time for promises, isn’t it?”

“Just humor me, okay?”

“What’s the promise?”

Travis groaned. “Damn, you’re a tough nut to crack. Promise you’ll go on a date with me when this is over.”

She laughed. “Is that all? That’s easy. I’d love to go on a date with you when people aren’t trying to kill us.” Never mind that she’d fallen head over heels for him. Or that he’d be going back to his home in California when he finished his job. She didn’t care anymore. She’d take whatever time Travis would give her and deal with her broken heart later.

He kissed her soundly. “Good. I’ll hold you to that, so don’t forget.” He climbed from the sleeping bag. “We better get dressed. The helo will be here in a few minutes.” He pulled on his jeans.

“Really? How do you know?” Jordan reached for her neat pile of clothing and began dressing.

“You’ll hear it in a minute. My internal frequency never fails to pick up the evacuation helicopter.” He laced his boots and grabbed the rifle. “I’ll go down the hill and help them find a spot to land somewhere close. Can you pack up?”

“Of course. Go do your thing.” She waved him away, excited and anxious to finally be going home.

Packing up meant putting the flashlights and blanket in the backpack, rolling up the sleeping bag, and tying it beneath the pack frame. Jordan was zipping the pack closed when she heard Travis return. “That didn’t take long.” She flashed a smile as she turned to greet him.

Except, itwasn’tTravis.

Kyle stood between her and the cave opening, nervously palming his handgun, eyes feral-looking with dilated pupils.

Jordan froze with her mouth open and the backpack halfway zipped. No! Damn it! This is supposed to be over, and Brody and his miscreants should be in jail. How dare Kyle be standing here with a gun.He would kill her—there was no doubt in her mind. Somehow, she had to warn Travis so he wouldn’t walk into an ambush.

“Not a sound, sweet thing.” A smirk curled Kyle’s lip.
