I punched Finn’s bicep. “We would have been, but I had to go through stalker training. Please don’t ask.” My feet led me a step closer to Ronan. “I didn’t expect to see you today.”

He peered down at me, entirely unreadable as usual. “I said a day.”

I held up two fingers. “Or two.”

“A day was enough,” he volleyed back.

“What if it wasn’t for me?” The truth was, I hadn’t even come close to wrapping my head around what had gone down between Ronan and me. I knew what the safe answer was, though.

“That’s too bad.”

“All right, folks.” Finn clapped his hands together. “Looks like I’m no longer needed here. Iris, text me when you want to run again.” He bowed his head. “Ro.”

Ronan tipped his chin but didn’t bother looking at Finn. “I’ll be talking to you later.”

Finn chuckled as he walked away. “Oh, I’m sure you will.”

Ronan towered over me like a marble column, unmovable and steady. He flustered me, and that wasn’t something I was used to feeling. I took on rowdy, heavy metal crowds of thousands without flinching, but this beautiful, put-together man turned me into a mumbling wallflower.

Which really proved why we shouldn’t continue.

From the look of determination on Ronan’s face, it probably didn’t matter what I thought. It seemed he had already made up his mind.
