Sammi pushes out her lower lip in a sexy pout.

“Never,” Bruce says with a wink. “You simply looked like you were having a ball last night—allof you.”

He says that last part with a little head tilt in my direction.

I don’t want to even think about what that means. He’s looking right at me.

What did I do? Who did I do?

Hopefully, just Brendon. I mean, sleeping with one guy that’s not my fiancé is bad enough, but a whole line of them?

Maybe I should start drinking again. I don’t know if I even want these memories back at this rate.

“What’s everyone drinking today?” Bruce asks.

“Cosmo for me,” Percy says.

“Surprise me with something sweet,” Becky says.

“That one,” Sammi says pointing to an imported beer on tap.

“And for you, my Southern Belle?”

I’ve moved to the end of the bar where it’s a little darker in hopes of blending in, but Bruce’s manners won’t let him leave me out.

“Umm, I don’t think I want a drink right now,” I say. “I’m still recovering from last night.”

“Oh, come on, Mysti May,” Sammi says as she sips her dark beer. “Have a little hair of the dog, isn’t that what you call it?”

“Yeah, not right now,” I say, waving Bruce off.

Instead, I just decide I’ll wait until Liam shows up so we can figure out what happened here last night.

I watch the girls start drinking, and it’s amazing. They seem to come alive before my eyes, like watching crops spring back from the brink of death when a good rain hits after days of drought.

Suddenly, I feel strong arms wrap around me—one around my waist, the other over my mouth. Before I have a chance to cry for help or signal the others, the strong arms pull me away from the bar and into a room.

With the strong arm still covering my mouth, I hear the door’s lock click behind me.
