Connor was the kind of man that always had a plan. It was part of what made him such a successful businessman. His dad had started Renshaw Manufacturing a long time ago, creating something great, but when Connor took it over, he elevated it to an even higher level of success. Nowadays, the name Renshaw was synonymous with high-quality in the world of sports, and as far as I was concerned, that was because of Connor.

“I’ll figure something out, even if I have to dig my way out of here to get to a phone,” he said, staring into the fire. “If we’re getting that much snow, the car’s not an option, but clearly this has become an overnight trip.”

“Good thing we found this cabin, then,” I said gratefully. “I’d hate to think how uncomfortable it would be to sleep in the cold car.” I shivered at the mere thought.

“Yeah,” he agreed, and I noticed that his refilled glass was already halfway gone. “At least we have a bed that looks like it has some pretty heavy blankets on it to keep us warm.”

At his words, we both turned to look at the bed against the wall next to us, and I could feel my heart racing at the idea of sharing it with him. The couch was small, even for someone as short as me, so whoever took it would have an uncomfortable night. But sleeping with Connor on a twin bed...my body pressed up against my boss’s muscular form all night long…

God, I needed a distraction.

“I saw some cards in a drawer earlier,” I said, standing abruptly. “Let’s play a game. It will at least help to pass time.”

“Sounds good to me,” he agreed.

I went to one of the kitchen drawers that was filled with random items and pulled out the deck. When I returned to the couch, Connor was filling up our glasses again, and I noticed that we’d already consumed just shy of half the bourbon. That explained why my head was swimming and I felt so relaxed now—despite the way that seeing Connor’s arm muscle flex with his movement brought out a hunger for him that felt insatiable.

“What do you want to play?” I asked, going to the other side of the coffee table and taking a seat on the floor. Far enough away that I could resist the temptation to touch those solid muscles.

“Hmm. How about strip poker?” Connor suggested as I started shuffling the cards.

I looked up at him in shock with my mouth hanging open, while a daring smirk curved his lips.

He couldn’t be serious . . . or was he?
