Then she heard him shout. “Ow! Your claws are sharp, you little monster.”
Cassandra giggled again. The kitten must have climbed him the same way she’d been climbing Cassandra all day. She found it endearing, but she had a feeling Cameron wasn’t going to be quite as happy with the creature’s silly habits.
She heard feet stomping up the stairs again, and Cameron walked into the room. She heard a rustling sound, and she knew he was putting the kitten in the bed she’d made for her.
Hearing him undress in the dark, she smiled. His body had made her awfully happy earlier, and she hoped they could repeat what they’d done often. The bed dipped, and he settled in beside her, his arm reaching for her to pull her back against him.
The sound of the kitten climbing the bed again made her giggle, and he groaned. “She’s a menace!”
“But she’s such a cute little menace.” Minnie came back to them, and she settled on Cameron’s chest this time. “She likes you.”
“Great. Just what I always wanted.” He stroked the kitten’s head and listened to it grumble at him again. She was going to take some getting used to.
