Hudson looked up at him, his normally easy expression drawn with worry. “I don’t know what we’re going to do if…”

“She’s not going to die,” came Ry’s raspy voice. “Told her she wasn’t allowed. So she won’t.”

A choked incredulous laugh escaped Ian’s throat. These fucking people. His goddamn family. He loved them so much it hurt.

“You’re right. No way she’s disobeying you, Sir. Now let’s get you two warmed up.”

He and Hudson took off their own clothes and climbed into bed with Coco and Ryker. Ian huddled up close behind Ry and wrapped an arm around him, surrounding him with body heat. It was like hugging an icicle, but he didn’t mind. He wanted to kiss and nuzzle Ry’s trapezius, but he wouldn’t press the guy too much. This much snuggling was probably putting his stoic partner on edge. So he bit him instead, hard. Ry made a startled sort of roar but then grunted and Ian would take that as a sign of approval.

Though he and Hudson and Coco shared a bed almost every night and he’d spent nights with Hudson on the regular before that, the four of them had never slept in the same bed. That was just going to have to change.

Ian loved how he could look over Ry’s shoulder and see tiny Coco surrounded by Hudson, and Ry had threaded his fingers through hers on the pillow between their pale faces…everything he’d ever wanted, everything he’d ever need was right here in this bed, in this one-room cabin and he wasn’t going to let anything fuck with that, ever again. These people were his—his family, his loves, and that was how things were going to be, forever.
