“Thank you, Daddy. I love it so, so much.”
“You’re welcome. I thought you could explore in here until Lo gets home and then we could spend some time all together.”
“Sexy time?”
“If you want.” He shrugged. “Non-sexy little playtime isn’t your Lolo’s favorite, but I’m sure he would be happy to spend some time with us in your new nursery tonight.”
Yeah, she could see that even as her daddy might be content to do puzzles with her on the floor or cuddle up in the rocking chair to read picture books that playing stuffies wouldn’t be Lolo’s idea of a good time. But she loved that he would do it on occasion if it was important to her.
“Okay. There’s only two things that would make it better.”
“I’m guessing one is Lolo,” her daddy said as he tapped her on the nose.
“Uh-huh.”
“What’s the other thing?”
“Are there some little clothes for me to wear?” she asked hopefully.
“Oh, babygirl, are there ever. You haven’t even seen the closet yet.”
Her heart sang like sirens as she hugged her daddy with Octavia squished between them again. Best surprise ever.
