Hi sir, I’m in love with your daughter and I want to marry her. Oh also, I’m her teacher for the next month.

I begin to regret the trek I made here. My only thoughts were getting to Skyler, so the thought had escaped me that perhaps her parents wouldn’t be too thrilled. That they won’t be on board with the age difference. I pull into a shopping center for some gas and a Red Bull when something behind it catches my eye. I don’t know where I’ve seen it before but I know that I recognize it.

Greenwich Artistry.

I pull out my phone and am grateful I’d had the oversight to screenshot a few pictures from Skyler’s Instagram before she deleted it. I find the picture of her tattoo and notice the Geotag.

That’s where she got her tattoo.

I pull out of the station and into the parking lot, and I’m surprised that it’s still open. I open the door and am stunned at how quiet it is. I’d been to a few tattoo parlors in my day, when Chace got his and even once with my sister, Beth, who had at least ten at this point.

I don’t have anything against them. I just never had something that I cared enough about to get permanently etched on my body. Nothing that was so much ingrained in my DNA that I felt the need to have it ingrained in my skin as well.

Until Skyler.

“Honey, we are about to close up for the night,” an older woman who looks like she should run a bakery or a florist or a daycare enters the room. There isn’t a tattoo in sight and her hair is pulled back into a low bun. She has pearl studs in both ears as well as a string of them around her neck.

I guess I really am in Connecticut.

“Right…do you think you have time for one more?”

“What were you thinking, handsome?” She crosses her arms and pulls her glasses out of her pants pocket before sliding them on her face. “And where?”

“Maybe a few words? On my arm?” I ask. “Or here, maybe?” I point to my side and trail my hand down my ribs. I had never considered a tattoo, and now here I am impulsively deciding to get one.

“This is a popular place for the guys. What do you want it to say?”

Ten minutes later, underneath a bandage and the promise to not get it wet for at least forty-eight hours, I’m back in my car.

I look at the photo that I’d asked her to take for me and I smile.

Amor Vincit Omnia.

Love Conquers All.

I love Skyler. I’d broken all the rules to be with her, and then I’d broken us both by ending it. But in the end, our love could overcome any obstacle.

I pull into a quaint hotel, remembering once again that I’m in Connecticut. I barely make it through the “orientation,” my eyes fighting to close with the tour of each room of the bed and breakfast. I just hope to God that her parents are welcoming and allow me to stay with them, because I am not about to stay in this Alice in Wonderland themed acid trip longer than one night.

Unless of course, Skyler stays here with me. My cock springs to life thinking about our reunion. I hadn’t been inside of her in almost four weeks and my body has noticed. I have a month’s worth of tension that I need to release inside of her. I look down at my phone to see if Skyler has emailed me back after the email I sent letting her know that she’d gotten an A on the quiz. I hope she understands that I saw her message as well. Our emails are monitored, so I can’t very well say that I miss her too. I just hope that she read between the lines.

I don’t even bother to take off my clothes after kicking off my shoes before my eyes flutter closed and sleep takes me.

Tomorrow, I get my girl back.

I pull into the driveway of the large Colonial mansion where Skyler lives. I assumed that she was well off when everyone went on and on about her father, but I wasn’t expecting this level of wealth. The driveway is long and paved with grey stone, lined with flowers all the way up to the house. I notice two garages off to the side that have two Audis, a Maserati and a Benz. On the other side of the house, I see a smaller house with two other cars, one of which I recognize—Skyler’s BMW—and I wonder if she stays in the guest house. I step out of my car, wishing that I’d brought flowers or something. I’ve been anxious all morning, for a reason I’m not sure of. Do I think she’ll turn me down? Tell me that she’s come to her senses and she’s over me? Is she over me?

I make my way up the steps taking them two at a time. I let out a deep breath and raise my hand to knock when the door flies open and I’m staring at Skyler’s face. Just…different.

“Holy shit.” Her hair is longer and darker and she has thick-rimmed square glasses that sit in front of hazel eyes, versus Skyler’s dark brown ones.

“Well, I guess there’s no question that I have the right house.” I chuckle as I assume I’m looking at Serena, Skyler’s older sister. “I assume you’re Serena?”

“And you’re the teacher.” She raises her eyebrows and a smile finds her lips.

“She told you about me?”

She nods and motions me inside. “I can’t believe you’re here. She’s going to freak.”
