She crosses her arms in front of her chest, pushing her breasts upwards and, for the first time, it does nothing for me. “You’re so obvious, you know that?”

I ignore her comment, not wanting to entertain her bullshit. I stand up in preparation to remove her from my office when she continues. “You have such a hard-on for Mr. Mitchell’s daughter. Do you really want to go down that road?” This shit again? Am I really that fucking obvious?

No, regrettably, Olivia just knows what it looks like when you’re into someone.

Although, I never looked at Olivia the way I look at Serena.

I look at her, furious. “Green is an ugly color on you, Olivia,” I try to reign in the anger even if she is pissing me off because I know that underneath the jealousy is hurt and the sting of rejection.

A flash of hurt crosses her face and she takes a step back. “I’ve seen the way she looks at you too, Landon. You’re not good for her. You need to stop whatever it is you’re doing.”

My thoughts of worrying about her feelings fly out the window. “Need I remind you, that I am not only your boss but a partner at this firm and you are way the fuck out of line.”

My words seem to remind her that while, yes, she is my ex-lover, she is also a subordinate. And thus, I am only going to let her get away with so much. “Leave her alone, Landon. Before you hurt her like the rest of us.” She turns her teary gaze away from me and storms out of the office without another glance.

After Olivia’s dramatic exit, I’m in the shittiest mood. A shitty mood that would have instantly improved by seeing Serena’s sweet face except she isn’t fucking here yet. She’d texted me when she left campus, but that was over an hour ago, and it shouldn’t take this long to get here. I pick up the phone to call her, perfectly aware that my obsessive boyfriend traits are showing, but I want to know where she is. Now.

“Hey.”

“Where are you?” I demand. “You should be here by now.”

“I’m…here.” She sounds almost bored, and it pisses me the fuck off.

“Here where?” I demand.

“My dad’s office.”

What the fuck?

“For how long?”

“About thirty minutes.”

“Didn’t I tell you to come to me when you got here?” She’s silent and I wonder if P is in there with her. “Are you not alone?” I could have sworn he was in a meeting but maybe it got canceled.

“I am.”

Oh, fuck that. I’m out of my office, closing my door behind me before I can change my mind. I move down the hall, and I’m through his office door all within the span of a minute. She blinks at me, the phone still to her ear and lets it fall, ending our phone call. “Why didn’t you tell me you were here? Why didn’t you come to my office like I asked?”

“You were…busy when I got here.”

“Busy?” I close the door behind me, grateful that her father’s assistant isn’t sitting outside of his office. Doesn’t she know she could have interrupted whatever I was doing?

“Olivia was there.” She clears her throat. “And I wasn’t sure if it was smart for me to show my face given the nature of your conversation.” She swallows and looks towards the open windows. “She wants you.”

“I don’t want her...I want you.”

Her neck snaps towards me. “I’m not jealous, I was just stating a fact.”

She’s not jealous? “You’re sure you’re not jealous?”

“Did I love her comment about you eating her out?” She winces. “Not particularly, but, no, Landon, I’m not jealous.”

“Well, let’s get one thing straight,” I growl as I make strides across the room towards her. “I am the jealous type. I’m also the possessive type. So, if I tell you to come to me, you come,” I tell her. She looks vastly different from this morning when I left her. Her hair is down in loose waves and she’s dressed in a black and beige color block skirt that accentuates her legs. I pull her to her feet and press my lips to hers, desperate for her taste.

“Lan—” she moans. “My dad…”

“Your dad is in a meeting on the fourth floor for at least another hour.” I press her against the wall, kissing her like my life depends on it. “I need to eat your pussy again.”
