“But they won’t give up the chance they might have a grandson floating around in the world, either. Nowadays, a male child is money in the bank. If he’s an American citizen with a Chinese father, the kid will be very lucky.”
“Maybe. All depends on how much pressure’s being put on Amber. Is she happy to give up her rights to her child?”
“Guess we won’t know until we pick her up.”

“Poor girl, when is this operation supposed to be happening?”
“Tonight, if all goes well. I’m supposed to be waiting at this address where the van will be dropping her off. Then we disappear.”
“Your government’s got it all neatly tied up, right?”
