“Happy? You ambushed me.”

“That’s a little dramatic, don’t you think? I thought you wanted me to meet your parents.”

“I did. But not yet. And definitely not today.”

“I’m sorry.” He reaches up, squeezing the back of his neck. “I must have misunderstood.”

“Look.” I blow out a breath. “I did want you to meet my parents. I just wasn’t prepared for you to show up like you did. You really caught me off guard.”

“I didn’t mean…”

“I know. But you can’t do that. You can’t just show up without giving me a heads up.”

“But isn’t that exactly what you did to me when you stopped by the set?”

“That was different.”

“How?”

“Because you were alone. I came to your trailer. I didn’t burst onto set without invitation.” I cross my arms in front of my chest.

“Are you really upset about this? You seemed completely fine at the restaurant.”

“Of course, I did. I wasn’t going to start an argument with you in front of my parents.”

“Is that what we’re doing?” A smile tugs at his lips. “Are we having an argument? Because if so, this is the tamest argument I’ve ever had.”

“This isn’t an argument, and I’m not mad. It’s just me vocalizing something you did that I wasn’t very happy about.”

“You sure we can’t call it an argument? Because I hear make-up sex is the fucking best.” He has a full-fledged smile pulling at his lips now, and damn it, he’s even got me smiling.

“You’re impossible.” I huff, rolling my eyes.

“Yet you still want to come home with me.” He steps closer to me, pulling me into his arms. “Don’t you?”

“No,” I lie, shaking my head.

“Come again?”

“I’m not coming home with you until you apologize.”

At this point I’m just being difficult to be difficult, and from the look on his face, I’d say he knows that too.

“If I apologize, do I get make-up sex?” He wraps a hand around the back of my neck and holds me in place.

“Depends on if you mean it or not.” I stare at his forehead to avoid looking into his eyes. Because let’s be real, his eyes are my undoing. Well, among other things…

“Look at me, Hamilton.” He waits until my gaze comes to his before continuing, “I am truly sorry for showing up the way I did. I should have at least given you a heads up, and for that I apologize. But I won’t apologize for getting to meet your parents, or for getting to spend more time with you. Because tonight meant more to me than you could possibly know.”

“As far as apologies go, I guess that one didn’t totally suck.” I smirk.

“Now, can we go home and have sex?” His eyebrows dance up and down.

“If we must.” I sigh, like it’s the last thing I want to do, when in actuality, it’s the only thing I want to be doing.

“Come here.” He leans in, pressing his lips to mine. “I really am sorry,” he murmurs against my mouth. “Do you forgive me?”

“Yes.” I kiss him back.
