“What do you want?” she asks again.

“You,” I say.

She smiles and says, “Then, I’m all yours.”

I hold back my smile and say, “What about her?”

“She’s here for someone else. I was just at the bar when she walked up.”

“So, you’re…”

“Going to take your hand and look for a room,” she says.

She reaches for my hand just as the music starts. I pay no attention to the people moving around us, trying to find someone or multiple people to be with tonight. I only care about the feel of her hand in mine and how she possessively takes the bag I’m carrying and leads me down the hall and up the stairs to a room with an open door.

“Master bedroom,” she says, motioning for me to get inside.

“We won’t get in trouble this time, will we?”

“No,” she says. “I double-checked.”

“You double-checked for me?”

She nods and closes the door behind us. Then, she locks it, and I could not be happier or more turned on. I’ve waited two months for this, and now I get five hours with her.

“Wait,” she says suddenly. “I don’t want to leave once we’re in here. I’m grabbing food and water. Do you want a drink?”

I laugh lightly at her and say, “Maybe champagne.”

“I’m closing this door so that no one takes this room. Lock it behind me. I’ll knock twice and then two more times.”

“So secret agent,” I say, smiling at her.

“Don’t get undressed yet,” she says and leaves the room.

I lock the door behind her, and I’m suddenly nervous. I don’t know what to do until she gets back. I pick up my bag and move it closer to the bed, for easy access later. I check my breath to make sure that the mint I popped before I parked my car was still effective. Then, I walk to the mirror over the dresser and check my hair. I lift my boobs up a bit and adjust them in the bra. When I have nothing else to do that I could come up with, I’m just left to stand in front of the bed like an idiot. Finally, she knocks. I open the door and let her in. When I lock it behind her, she places a plate of food on the dresser along with two bottles of water. She pulls two more out of her suit jacket and reminds me a little of a squirrel preparing for winter. I laugh silently at how cute it all is.

I see that she’s brought an entire bottle of champagne along with two flutes that she’d stored in her suit pants’ pockets. I’m in awe of her – she really doesn’t want to leave this room all night. That’s fine – I don’t, either. When I finally get to look around the space, it’s huge. The king-sized bed behind me is a nice touch. There’s a massive television mounted to one wall, a nice oriental rug between a chair and a matching loveseat opposite it, and there’s also a balcony that overlooks the backyard and pool. All I can think is that it’s perfect.

“I was hoping you’d be here,” she says, uncorking the champagne.

“You were?” I ask.

“Yes,” she says as the foam pours out of the bottle and onto the floor.

“Oh, no,” I say, laughing.

“They’ll have it all cleaned anyway,” she says, unphased as she pours some into a flute and more into another. She passes one to me and places the bottle down on the dresser. She turns to me with her own glass and holds it out. “Cheers,” she says.

“What are we toasting to?” I ask.

“This,” she says. “You look amazing.” She leans in and kisses my neck as our glasses clink together. “You smell amazing.”

I breathe her in, too, and she smells perfect. I take a sip of my champagne as she continues to kiss my neck.

“You have to take a sip or it’s bad luck. You don’t know that?” I say.

“Bad luck?”
