“At my place.”

“Meet me at the club. Maybe someone there knows where she is.”

“I’m on my way.” Jeffery said before disconnecting the call.

Gabbriello let out a frustrated breath as he dialed his Andrew. “Meet me in front in twenty minutes,” he said before disconnecting the call and dialing Rinaldo’s number. “Meet me at the club,” he said before sticking the phone back in his pocket.

Gabbriello decided he needed to shower and change before dealing with the Jeffery’s bullshit. He headed towards the elevators.

Twenty minutes later, Gabbriello walked swiftly through the lobby, towards the exit. He checked the time on his watch as the doorman opened the door for him and acknowledged his presence. Gabbriello nodded at him as Andrew approached.

They walked across the street towards the Emerald Club.

The club was busy, like every other night of the week. Andrew followed close behind as Gabbriello passed the long line of people waiting for entry and headed straight for the door. The bouncer held the door open for him.

“Good evening Mr. Deluca.”

“Hey Tony,” Gabbriello said as he patted the man on the shoulder before walking past him.

He and Andrew made their way through the entryway and heard the loud bass of the music playing. Gabbriello felt the pounding in his chest as he headed past the VIP booths. In the far-left corner of the club, there was an opening that was guarded. It led to the back offices where they conducted their business.

Andrew cleared the path as Gabbriello walked through the crowd and down the hall to the offices. Gabbriello walked in and Andrew closed the door behind him, dampening the booming sound of the music.

The office was large enough to accommodate conference space. It had a round table made up of solid mahogany wood, a full bar towards the left side of the room, and a pool table. Hanging on the right wall was a 75-inch flat-screen TV built with the right angle to be seen from the two leather couches a few feet away. In retrospect, the space looks more like a hangout spot than a conference room/ office.

Jeffery, Nicholas, and his brother Mariano sat with drinks in their hand, while Rinaldo stood next to the bar nursing a drink.

Gabbriello pulled out the chair and sat as Andrew stood next to the door. “Someone tell me what the fuck is going on?”

“I can’t find Sam. I do not know where she’s at and I’m worried she might be in danger.” Jeffery spouted.

Gabbriello stared into Jeffrey’s bloodshot eyes and knew he must have been crying. “Anyone else seen her?” Gabbriello asked, as he looked at all the men.

The other men shook their heads.

“I asked the bartenders and the dancers. She was in yesterday morning, but no one has seen her since. I checked the schedule, and she was supposed to work the early shift today, but she was a no show,” Nicholas added.

Normally, Gabbriello wouldn’t give a fuck about an employee who didn’t show up to work. It happens. Many of the people they hire are flaky and some quit without notice, they just don’t come back or quit over the phone. But this was different. Jeffery started dating one of the dancers and that made her a target. He stared at Nicholas as he ran through the list of employees that saw her last.

Nicholas was a smart businessman that made now made a good living by managing the Emerald Club. He was one of his father’s right-hand men when his father was alive. He enjoyed the nightlife and flirting with the ladies while keeping order among the men, so Gabbriello made him the manager.

Gabbriello’s brother, Mariano, was two years older than Gabbriello. He not only managed the Deluca hotel, but he was a wiz on the computer.

“I asked around and she hasn’t been at the hotel either,” Mariano said.

“What happened?” Gabbriello asked, as he turned to face Jeffrey.

“What do you mean?” Jeffery asked nervously.

“You said you guys got into a fight. What was it about?”

Jeffrey ran his hand through his thin blonde hair, making it look wild and unkept. “It’s personal. I don’t really want to get into it here.”

Frustration and anger rose in Gabbriello’s chest. “We need to know. It might help us find her.”

Jeffrey shakes his head. “No, I don’t think it will.”

Suddenly, Gabbriello slammed his flat palm on the table, causing the others to jump. “I asked you a fucking question. I will not ask again.” Gabbriello growled as he glared at Jeffery.
