She turned to face him. She put her hand on his abdomen and pushed herself upright, so she was staring into his beautiful eyes. “Yes.”

“You make me want to fuck you every day,” he responded.

“Maybe we can arrange something,” she joked with a smirk.

“Don’t tempt me.”

Layla bit down on her lip as he flipped her onto her back.

“Ready for round two, sweetness?” he said as he grabbed another condom.

Layla woke up to the sight of Gabbriello dressed in a pair of slacks and a designer tee shirt that fit his torse perfectly. She pulled the sheet up to cover her body as she sat up.

“Where are you going? If you give me a minute, I can get dressed and go down to my room if you have to leave?” Layla said as she watched him intently.

Gabbriello stared at her through the mirror as he adjusted the buckle on his belt. “I have to go to a meeting, but please stay. It should only take an hour, then we can get some breakfast.” He turned from the mirror and walked over to the bed. “I know a great breakfast place in Glenside,” he said as he bent over and kissed her.

“Do you own that place as well?”

“Not yet, but I’m working on it.” Gabbriello turned and retrieved his wallet from the dresser. “They have the best waffles I’ve ever tasted.”

“Mmm, chicken and waffles do sound good,” Layla said with a smile.

“A woman after my heart,” Gabbriello joked. “That’s one of their specialties.”

Gabbriello kissed her again.

She inhaled sharply and could smell the fresh ocean scent of his cologne and taste the mint flavor of his breath. “I’ll be back soon and then I can take you out.” He said as he walked into his closet. He put on his holster that held his guns and a jacket before walking back into the bedroom.

“Hey, I need to go down to my room to change my clothes,” she said to his retrieving back.

“I took the liberty of having my staff pick some things out for you. They’re in the guest bedroom. There are several outfits to choose from. If you don’t see something you like or the size isn’t right, call this number and they will bring you what you need.” He said as he walked back into the room and handed her a card. “Oh, and I replaced the panties I ruined last night.” He said with a smile.

“You’re spoiling me,” Layla said with a slight smile as the memories of their lovemaking flooded her memory. After they took a short break, they went at it again and didn’t stop until the wee hours of the morning. Eventually, they both fell asleep from exhaustion.

Gabbriello smiled back but didn’t respond. He got onto the elevator and called Andrew to let him know he was on his way down. He also made sure that someone from his security team was watching the elevator to the penthouse. Gabbriello instructed them to follow Layla if she left the hotel. He was developing feelings for her, but he still didn’t trust her. He already knew that there was nothing incriminating in his condo so she could snoop, but she wouldn’t find anything.

Gabbriello walked through the doors of Emerald Club with Andrew at his side as they headed towards the conference room in the back.

“Seriously?! I don’t know what the fuck you are thinking?!” Mariano yelled as he looked directly at Gabbriello.

Gabbriello closed the door behind him. “Remember who the fuck you are talking to and watch your tone.” Gabbriello said as he looked at his brother. He then turned to the other two men in the room and gave them a nod as he acknowledged their presence. Nicholas and Jeffery were sitting at the table. Jeffery looked disheveled and probably hadn’t slept since they found Samantha’s body.

“Did you know she was a fed?” Nicholas asked, causing Gabbriello to look at him.

“Did I know who was a fed?” Gabbriello sneered as he turned towards Nicholas.

“The woman you just fucked.” Nicholas responded.

“I won’t remind either of you again to watch your tone.” Gabbriello narrowed his eyes. His menacing tone let all of them all know he was serious. He cut his eye at his brother. “As Mariano must have told you,” He turned towards Jeffery and Nicholas, “I just found out.” Gabbriello was trying to keep his cool, because the last person who used that tone with him went to the hospital. He was slower to anger, because he was talking to his brother, his cousin and one of his best friends. He valued their opinions and knew they had his back. They were given more leeway than most, but he wouldn’t tolerate disrespect from anyone, not even family.

“Why was she really snooping around?” Nicholas asked as his tone softened.

“I don’t think she’s here to come after our business. I think she is really related to Samantha and is trying to find her killer.” Gabbriello responded.
