Gabbriello lowered his head.

Mr. E. put his hand on Gabbriello’s shoulder. “Boss, I will make sure this is cleaned up and dispose of the body. Go home and make love to your beautiful wife. Trust me, it will help you forget.”

Gabbriello looked at his dead friend and holstered his gun, took a deep breath, and nodded. “Make sure his head, hands and feet are burned, before you dispose of the body,” Gabbriello commanded in a low stern voice.

“Will do, boss,” Mr. E. responded as he nodded.

Gabbriello and Rinaldo walked out of the warehouse and into a waiting car.

“It had to be done, Gabe,” Rinaldo whispered as he tried to make Gabbriello feel better.

Words couldn’t help him right now as he felt his heart clinch. He couldn’t remember something hurting him worst then this betrayal.

“Do you want to go have a drink before you go home?”

“Naw,” he peered over at Rinaldo. Thanks for being there and always having by back.”

“That’s what I’m here for boss,” he smirked as he looked forward.

Gabbriello decided to take a shower in the suite on the tenth floor before going to the penthouse. He put his suit in a trash bag and would make sure it was burned. Gabbriello needed to get the stench of Nicholas’ blood off him.

After showering, he put on a tee shirt and sweatpants before heading up to penthouse. As he walked into his bedroom suite, he could see the silhouette of Layla’s body under the covers. He removed his tee shirt and sweatpants before sliding into the bed next to her. When her beautiful light brown eyes connected with his, he felt a sense of calm.

“Hey baby,” she whispered as she pressed her lips against his.

Gabbriello said nothing as he gripped her face and kissed her passionately. He pulled her pajama shorts down and positioned his body between hers. His large thighs nudged her legs farther apart as he hooked her legs under his arms and held them higher, and he entered her. His movement was slow, but quickly sped up as his thrusts became stronger and more powerful.

Layla tried to look into his eyes, but they remained closed as he repeatedly pushed inside her. She cupped his face softly, prompting him to open his eyes. She could see his eyes filled with unshed tears as he continued to thrust. Layla’s heart broke from the hurt in his eyes. She opened her legs wider, giving him more access as he thrust harder and faster. While she wanted to make her husband feel better, she felt an impending orgasm as she looked into his eyes. “I love you,” she whispered as she rode the wave of pleasure that spiraled throughout her body.

Gabbriello continued his assault until his body stiffened. He moaned loudly as he filled her womb with his seed. He looked down at her and kissed her again before slowly pulling out of her and collapsing by her side. Gabbriello wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into his chest. “I love you too, Mrs. Deluca,” he whispered in her ear before kissing her neck. She made him feel good. Her presence made him want to be a better man, and he would be that for her and their children. He knew she was the one, she was the one he wanted to share his life with, and he was going to show her every day of her life that he was worthy of her.

EPILOGUE

Layla stood in the large holding room that was designated for the bride and her bridesmaids. But Layla didn’t have any bridesmaids. She was so focused on her career that she didn’t make time to enjoy life and make friends. Layla took a deep breath; she had a cousin who agreed to be her maid of honor. She looked into the three floor length mirrors that gave her a full view of her dress.

Layla placed her hand over her stomach as she inhaled, and she instantly thought about Samantha. if she were alive, she would be right here by her side as her maid of honor on her wedding day. A tear slid down her cheek and she patted it away as she inhaled. She would have been happy for her and today was going to be a good day because she was marrying the love of her life.

The last few months had been a blur. She moved in with Gabbriello and he wanted to have a formal wedding to announce their love to the world. They never mentioned Nicholas’ name again after the night of his execution. Gabbriello told Layla how the family handled Nicholas and she was satisfied with their decision. Once the orders were carried out, Gabbriello met with the family council to let them know the problem was eliminated.

After Big D’s disappearance, photos of him with young boys surfaced on the internet and the stock in his casino plummeted. No one cared that he was missing anymore, but his partners wanted to disassociate themselves with a known pedophile and they all unloaded their stocks. Gabbriello met with the casino’s board of directors and was in the process of purchasing the casino and the property it was on for pennies on the dollar. She thought back to the night when Gabbriello officially proposed to her.

Two Months Earlier…

“What are we doing out here?” Layla asked.

They had been together every day since that night at Big D’s casino. Layla moved in with Gabbriello and they continued with the marriage to see where it would go.

Gabbriello led the way up a large grassy hill while carrying a wooden basket. “You’ll see,” he said as he held her hand.

Layla was holding a bottle of champagne and a blanket. “I hope you’re not leading me into some place sketchy all alone,” she joked.

“Why? Are you scared?” Gabbriello stopped at the top of the hill and put the basket on the ground. He grabbed the blanket from Layla and spread it out over the grass. They sat down together.

Layla looked around, in awe of the view. They could see the beautiful skyline of Philadelphia at night. “Wow, it’s beautiful here. Where did you find this place?”
