Keeping my hand over her mouth, I tip her head again, placing kisses on the crease in her neck near her shoulder. We’re both close, and I open my mouth and bite down. She bucks, and I smile, sucking––it’s juvenile, but I like marking her.

I pull back. “Eyes on me, mo ghrá.” Her eyes fly open and a tear slips from the corner. My heart races and I pound into her as she lets go and cries out as best she can with my hand covering her mouth. I follow her over that ledge a few seconds later.

I lick the tear from her eye and rest my head on her forehead. We stay like that for a few minutes while we both come down from our highs.

Our breathing evens out and her legs slip from around my waist. I let her drop as I pull my jeans back up. I don’t fasten them as I reach over to the racking on my right, grabbing a pack of napkins. I rip it open, and she reaches out to grab them, but I push her hand away.

I kneel on the floor in front of her and clean our combined cum that’s dripping down her shaking legs.

I have no idea how she’s holding herself up right now.

When I’m satisfied she’s acceptable enough to go back out there, I stand, gripping the back of her neck and pulling her to me, giving her a bruising kiss. She responds but it feels different, like she’s nervous.

I pull away from her and lick my lips, turning to head for the door.

I toss the cum-filled napkins into the trash can by the door. “Thank you,” I shoot over my shoulder as I walk out the door, without even so much as a glance behind me.

Chapter 10

Ronan

One dead end after another. I’ve spent the last two weeks travelling around the states, chasing ghosts. Every man I have killed gave me a new location on where Liam or J was last seen.

I have no more leads; I’ve spent months looking for these bastards and I’m still no closer to finding them.

I lean back in my seat, watching the sunset under the clouds as Marcus brings me another whiskey.

“Sir, your whiskey. We will be landing in New York in approximately two hours. Can I get you anything else?”

I glance at him and shake my head. “No, thank you.”

He moves back to the galley, and I lean back in my seat and close my eyes. The moment I do, I’m assaulted by memories of her––of our last night together in Chicago, of the last time I saw her in the club, when I fucked her in the stock room, and when I almost choked Dan and told her to leave. The guilt surfaces and I take a drink of my whiskey, letting the burn soothe me.

I know she’s safe, I know she gets picked up for work and dropped off every day, and I know my brothers and the women are keeping an eye on her.

But it’s Alex I get the most from––she calls me almost every day. I ignored her calls for the first few days, until she started sending me messages every hour until I picked up. I could have just turned off my phone, but the truth is, I like talking to Alex. I like that she calls me out on my shit, but mostly, I like when she gives me updates on Liv. I told her I wasn’t interested, but sometimes, I think she knows me better than my brothers do.

I’m grateful that my brothers switched out her manager at the club without questioning me on it. I know I overreacted with Dan, but I still don’t want them working together, and between the girls and security, I know they haven’t seen each other.

My phone ringing pulls me from my thoughts. Fishing it out of my pocket, I roll my eyes seeing Alex on the caller ID.

“I told you I was coming home for Thanksgiving, Alex. I’m on the plane, I’ll be there in two hours.”

“Ronan…”

I sit up. I know from her tone something is wrong.

“What is it, Alex? Is everyone okay?”

“Everybody is okay, but I’m at Liv’s with Connor.”

She pauses, and I can hear her take a deep breath.

“Ronan, something happened… can you come to Liv’s place when you land?”

I check my watch, I still have ninety minutes. Holy shit.

“Yes, but, Alex, you need to tell me what I’m walking into.”
