I don’t know how long I slept for, but when I wake, Ronan has gone. I stretch and then realise what few things I had in my room are gone, including the picture of me and my baby. I feel my rage build. That son of a bitch. I jump out of bed, heading into the main room, coming to a dead stop when I see Bells and Alex sitting on the sofa, and a pile of bags and boxes by the door.

“Erm… what’s going on?”

“Finally!” Bella grins at me, grabbing her phone and heading into the hall as Alex gets up and stands near the door.

“You’re moving out. The lease has been terminated on this place and you’re going to come and stay with Connor and I for a couple of weeks until your new apartment is ready. You have a two-bed, two bath in the new tower apartments near the Chrysler building.”

My jaw hits the floor. My brain can’t comprehend what she is saying to even attempt a coherent sentence.

Sensing my confusion, she laughs.

“Breathe, Liv, you have plenty of time to try and get your head around this, but when the O’Farrell’s want something, they get it, and they want you out of this dump.”

I’m still staring at her when Bella walks back in. “Chop, chop, ladies, the driver is downstairs, and the removal guys are here to grab your stuff… although, we could have probably taken it in the SUV with us.”

“I––”

“Nope, don’t think, just walk, let’s go.” Bella smiles, stopping me before I have a chance to form a sentence, and grabbing a bag, pulling me out the door as Alex grabs the other bag and my phone.

I haven’t seen Ronan for five days, not since I broke down in front of him and then fell asleep in his arms. I stayed with Alex and Connor for a couple of nights, but as soon as my apartment was ready, I asked to move straight there. I needed my own space.

I would like to be able to apologise and thank Ronan for his kindness, but I have a feeling he’s going out of his way to avoid me.

I place another crate of beer bottles by the door and head further back into the stock room to grab another, when I hear Josie call for me. Great, here we go again.

“Olivia, seriously, can you not do a simple job?”

“I’m coming, Josie. I can’t carry them all at once, so I figured if I put them all by the door, then I can run back and forth to grab them.” I try to remain calm, my tone friendly and polite when I really want to smack her in the face, but I can’t risk pissing her off, I can’t risk this job.

“I told you we needed the crates out there before the club opened. I told you to hurry, customers will be arriving any minute and you’re messing about in here. Hurry up and get the bar restocked.”

She doesn’t even wait for my response; she just storms out.

I take a breath and continue sorting the crates. I managed to the get the bar restocked and the VIP area stocked and set up with fifteen minutes to spare.

“You think you’re good, don’t you?”

I turn to see Josie glaring at me––if looks could kill.

“I’m sorry?”

“You should be, you just walked right in here, and you try and steal Ronan from me… you need to back off and just leave.”

“What? Josie, what the hell are you talking about?”

“Ronan, he’s mine. Stop trying to get in-between us. Just leave New York, you don’t belong here.”

“I don’t know what you think is going on between Ronan and I, but I can assure you there is nothing. He’s my boss––or one of them. That’s all.”

She’s about the yell at me for God knows what, but then her face changes and she puts a sweet smile on her face.

“Hi, Connor, Finn. I’ve gotten the VIP area all set up for you. Why don’t you head up and I’ll be right there to make your drinks.”

I roll my eyes as I turn around and make my way towards the end of the bar, when Finn places a hand on my arm, stopping me from walking away.
